I originally received a home warranty coverage as part of purchasing my home. After it expired (2 months ago) I made the huge mistake of renewing the policy. In February, I placed a claim for my heating system not working properly during unusually cold temperatures. The contractor they sent took 4 visits and he never really fixed the issue. At first, he stated it was the expensive air filter I was using. Two days later, my heat was not working again. Then he stated there is nothing wrong with unit but he "thinks" the issue is from the thermostat that he end up replacing. Needless to say, he had no idea what the actual issue was. On top of that the person who came multiple times was the actual owner. I feel like I have a better understand of how to fix the heating system after some research than the contractor.

Now, few months later I start my AC and it's not working and started leaking good amount of water. I turned off the AC (avarage temp outside is 85-90) and immidiately contacted the home warranty requesting immidiate assistance due to the water and the unhealthy temparute outside. The original contractor they assignent never called me so they assigned a new one(3-4 days after my intial call). After 5 or so days of waiting 1-2 business days for communication for every question and request for service I had, the contractor came and looked at my unit which he stated that most likely it needs to be replaced but I need approval from the Home Warranty. The contractor avoided my calls and 2-10's reps calls for more than 3 days. I had to call and leave a message stating I will not pay the $75 service fee I owe them if the contractor doesn't send the info to my home warranty so the claim can move forward. After multiple days and countless phone calls that information was sent. At that point 2-10 decided to order a part instead of replacing the unit. i requested a new unit due to the consistent issues I have been having and I was told I have to pay additional $150 for a part and they are not replacing the unit but only the part they think it's causing the issue. It's now been 17 days without AC with tept above 90 and I still do not have a resolution. I have contacted the Attorney General's Office and filed a claim hoping to get a resolution. 2-10 also stated they will not be liable for any demaged caused by the water due to their neglegiance. It took them 11 days to order a part that is currenlty missing (day 17). I am not sure where they find their contractors but my recomendation is not to get home warranty through them. It has been a nightmare.
