24-Hour Fitness Misrepresentation of Contract and failure to perform Houston TX

I was sucked in by this company's aggressive sales tactics.  I paid by credit card because I did not trust the salesperson, because I knew they wouldn't be able to make unauthorized charges on it.  To get around that they have attempted to charge my card on three different merchant processing accounts.  I was trying to lose weight and I didn't really want to commit to a gym long term.  I told that to the salesperson when I started and she told me I was not eligible for a trial membership but I could go on contract for 2 to three weeks with no obligation.  After the first week I had a bad feeling about this gym.  The locker room area smelled like urine and sweat and their machines were all but completely broken down.  The A/C and heat was spotty in some places at best and tv monitors blast money-making propaganda at you at every turn.  I really hated the environment, so I called to cancel after only one week.  Guess what, they 2-3 week trial period I was promised turned out to be 2 or three days. WOW! What a lie! Now they are repeatedly drafting my account for a monthly fee.  I am afraid of them tanking my credit all because somebody wanted to lie to make a sale.  I will be hiring a lawyer if this nonsense keeps up. Run from this place. They will say anything to make your money and they can never upgrade their gyms because the corporate office won't let them.  I hope this report being out there helps people.  I really feel bad about this report.  I expected better from such a wealthy company but apparently they only care about signing people up for memberships and building new gyms.  After you are on a contract they just milk you forever. What a shame.
