I Have asked for, but have yet to receive a district or regional supervisor to contact me immediately. I have been an Aaron's customer for over 3 years now. My business has been done with the store located on Paramount Blvd, in Amarillo. My wife and i recently had some financial difficulties due to an illness she contracted. When i tried to negotiate an arrangement with the store i was told no. I have had several difficulties with this store, the manager, and the collections manager, Angel. Angel called my wife and yelled, and threatened her over the phone about 20 times in the last two weeks. I work 5 days a week, for around 12 hours a day. Angel, and the store supervisor, Alan, have even called my company issued work phone dozens of times. As i am at work i cannot readily ignore the customers i am dealing with to listen to someone rant and rave over the phone. The store supervisor has even called me from his home phone, and a payphone. this last Saturday, while i was working out of town, on the 22nd, an associate of Aaron's came to my house in a UHAUL truck. He ounded on the door, waking my wife who was home sick. he then demanded to be let in. She told him I don't even know who you are. All he did was show his shirt, which said Aaron's. he said i have Angel on the phone and he needs you to have your husband come to the store now, and make a payment. She informed them both that i was working and was out of town, but that she would call me and have me call them ASAP. The rep. received orders apparently that he was not allowed to leave until I called or made it to the store. She told him that she would call me and that there was nothing else she could do. Angel told him over the phone to tell her to give them some money or they wouldn't go away. She again stated that she would call me immediately. Where in she closed the door, and called me. i was unable to answer my wife's call the first time. The rep. for Aaron's however continued to remain on the porch, banging on the door, and incessantly ringing the doorbell. this continued for about thirty minutes. my wife was finally able to get through to me, and she showed the rep. that she was on the phone with me, and that i would call them as soon as i was able. The rep. then told her that she had to let him in or there would be consequences! (I'm sorry, did he just threaten my wife, home alone, and sick, and with a supervisor on the phone???) She was crying, and very upset by this time, but told him that no, she would not let him in. Apparently the rep was then told that if he was not allowed to come in and get the furniture then she needed to carry it all outside for them to take back. (It should be noted at this time, that i only have a balance of 135.00 left on the furniture, and a lil over 300 left on the crappy broken LCD TV they sold me, and have since refused to have repaired, or replaced!!) At this point she was on the phone crying and screaming for them to go away, that she wasn't feeling good, and that i was on the phone with her, and that i would call them. Again she closed the door, and the knocking and ringing started again. After about 5 or 10 minutes of this, she opened the door, and ripped the doorbell ringer out, and told him thank you, and to please leave. Apparently all this did was to have the rep. pull the UHAUL truck up, and block our driveway for another fifteen minutes. Meanwhile I have 12 missed calls, and 2 voice mails on cell phone from Aaron's, and about 10 calls from the store to our home phone. And several to my parents and friends house phones as well. She did answer the phone and was greeted most harshly by the store manager, Alan. After a brief conversation, she told him that she was sick, and tired, and that i had been informed, that i was working and would call them as soon as I was able. She then did say if the rep did not get off of our porch, and discontinue knocking on the door, then she would call the police. Ten minutes later the rep. finally departed. It should be noted that when I was about 4 days late on my pymnt. a few months back I was called by Alan also, and when i told him i would be in within the next 2 days (because that's when i would get paid)he said that wasn't good enough. He told me that his children were going to go hungry and that he wouldn't be able to pay his light bill because of my delinquency, and uncaring attitude. Are you kidding me? Also the LCD tv i bought there for my wife, and have paid over $2000.00 for already can be bought at Wal-Mart for less than $500.00. Look it up. It's a 32" Magnavox LCD HDTV. Also when i asked about the hundred dollar deal, I was informed that it doesn't apply at certain times of the year, and that not all brands of merchandise are included. Incuding apparently TV's and computers. And like I said it has lines in the display, and has a powering on and off problem, and other issues. A former employee of this store informed me several months back, that the powers that be decided i was unworthy of having this tv repaired or replaced, and if they could put me off long enough, it would no longer be there concern. I am refusing any further payments or conversations with the local Aaron's Sales and lease Ownership until I am contacted by a District or Regional Supervisor. The harassement and threats are quite illegal. And the treatment thus far is quite unproffesional. Thank you for your time. All of my contact information has been included in the above fields, as required. this has been copied, and posted and sent on Monday, November the 24th. at 11:09 am Central Standard Time.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Never any problem

I have been a customer with Aaron's since 1996 and have bought numerous items because I have no credit. The secret to a happy and successful contract is to follow it. Pay your payments when you agreed to on your signed contract and they won't even call you. In the last ten years I have been called one time and it was my fault for not paying on time. If you do not make a payment you are in fact just renting THEIR property. If you don't pay you are stealing it. Let the rep. pick it up and when you are financially better off go have them re deliver the property. It's not that hard. Pay your bills = you get to keep it and eventually own it OR don't pay and get bugged till you let them have their stuff or go to jail for theft. The problems that you had were brought on by yourself. Did you expect Aaron's to make your payment for you and give you the items for free? I had to pay for my things on time and you should do the same. I would have loved for them to lower my payment or make it for me because I couldn't. When that happens I call them to come and get it for a few weeks until I am better off and they will keep it for you and re deliver the item. If you follow your contract they will bend over backwards to help you at the store that I go to.

Eddie, I AGREE and Am In That Situation Now!

Aarons's is everything Eddie stated above plus some. I am also in Texas, but really wish to remain anonymous. We have been dealing with Aaron's now for a few months. Let it be known to all the readers that I DO realize my husband and I have defaulted on payments; however, we cannot help this downsizing economy and unfortunately it has really impacted us.

I am a good person, as is my husband, and when we defaulted and realized we could no longer make payments, we had EVERY intention on returning the furniture, until Aaron's started showing their true colors.

The local Aaron's store leaves messages ALL day long, they are so unprofessional that I didn't even know people like that still existed, much less had jobs! It is ashame that while all the good people are being laid off, the nasty ones are still sitting pretty in their jobs. The messages we have received are so awful, it is hard to believe this company has even survived as long as they have. Not only that, but these people DO NOT stop knocking on your door, especially if they know you are home. Honestly, my husband and I ignore it now, they can stand out there for hours and it will just be a waste of their time. One night, they demanded I let them in and I opened the door after an hour of knocking (let it be known they sit at our house until someone comes home) with my 10 month old child and this guy told me that he wasn't leaving until he saw that the "stolen" merchandise wasn't in here. I shut the door and called the Aaron's store and told them that this guy needs to leave my door because I am not letting him in. The guy on the phone told me it was okay to let him in because he was wearing an Aaron's shirt! Are you kidding? ANYONE can make those! YOU are NOT the law people.

It just goes to show, being nice goes a LONG way. After we realized how awful and "above the law" these people think they are, we made the decision to not contact them anymore. We are willing to deal with a corporate employee, but as for the location here, I am not interested in speaking with anyone.

Please don't rent from Aaron's, it isn't worth it and the products are LOUSY. We had a computer that broke after 3 months, never willing to fix it.
