I purchased an Acer One Aspire from Beachcamera.com. When it arrived I opened it and started it up. Most of the keys on the keyboard did not work. I called Beachcamera.com and they told me they could not exchange it because it was a warranty issue and I had to call Acer. I called Acer and they told me that they would fix it but I would have to send it to their Temple,TX facility at my expense. What choice did I have? beachcamera.com would not exchange this brand new defective product and the only way it was going to be fixed was to send it back to Acer. So I sent it back to Acer at my expense $20.33 plus 3 weeks for repair time. I attempted multiple times to speak to Acer regarding reimbursement for my shipping costs but they kept referring to their warranty policy which is the customer must pay to ship it back. I could understand if I had the computer for a while and it broke then I would be ok with the shipping but a defective computer right of the box? I believe Acer should be responsible for my shipping since it was a manufactured defect. Acer does not care, they just keep refering to their warranty policy. A warning to anyone looking to buy Acer, if your product is defective right out of the box, be prepared to shell out some extra cash to ship their defective item back to them and expect to wait 3 weeks for repair. I would assume from what I read on multiple web sites that I should expect more of the same from Acer. The product will not be fixed and I will have to constantly pay to ship it back to get it fixed. I have filed a complaint with consumer affairs in California and also in Texas against Acer. Lets see what happens
