*****STAY AWAY****GET REPAIR QUOTE IN WRITING*******I was stressed OUT one night researching all audi forums I can find on where to find a reputable audi shop and all the reviews pointed to this place and the owner "Lee" and how awesome of a mechanic he is...I call them up tell them exactly what all the problems were and asked "Lee" himself for estimate on how much he would charge me for: radiator replacement, abs module replacement, windshield washer spray motor replacement, tranny service and replace driver front side brake pads and Lee verbally quoted me $400... well let me enlighten you as I read straight off the bill. If you are forced to deal with this shop do yourself a favor and get the repair quote/estimate in "writing".....Please keep in mind that I supplied most of my parts except for tranny service kit which was sold to me at an astronomical price compared to normal parts store.

Labor:
-Transmission Fluid & Filter: $170
-Transmission Pan Bolt Removal $127
-Check out Leaks(keep in mind I told Lee exactly where I thought the leak was (oil cooler) to no avail I was still charged $170 for leaks that I pointed out prior to diagnosis...
-Windshield Washer Pump: $170
-TOTAL LABOR: $795.22 and keep in mind this does not include the radiator replacement we verbally agreed to covered under "$400" verbal quote

Parts:
-AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID: $152
-TRANSMISSION FILTER KIT: $85
-6MM X 16MM SS ALLEN HEAD BOLTS: $9.50
-Oil and Parts cleaner: $5.10
-Total Parts: $251.60

Entire Transmission service kit including oil retails for $115 yet I was charged $237..See for yourself

Very nice people overall but like I said be careful do not believe all the positive reviews these people are  vultures  preying on desperate audi owners.

Misreported/Complaint Resolved

AUTHOR: gucciv12 - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 20, 2013

There was a friendly yet careless misunderstanding of the whole repair on my part and I apologize for that. I was under severe financial as well as psychological distress with this car which I've since got rid of. This is a decent shop owned and operated by decent and very competent every day people which were highly helpful and patient with me. Again my fault totally wish I can remove/delete this report in its entirety. I fully recommend this shop wholeheartedly!

Enmanuel,

I am very disappointed to see you write something like this. First of all, most of the problems that you "told us" that needed to be fixed were incorrect.

You did NOT need to replace your radiator. The car was miss-diagnosed by someone other than us. You brought us a mishmash of used and new parts that you had scoured the internet for the cheapest pricing, understandable from a self stated "broke college student".

However, we as a company do not buy Chinese manufactured,  aftermarket parts as we have to warranty them. As you can see, the pricing does vary a bit from cheap aftermarket to OEM quality replacement parts.

**Also, the kit you listed from Blauparts only includes 5 qts of aftermarket fluid you would need to purchase an additional 3 qts at $12.00 per qt increasing your kit total by about $40.**

In your complaint you also fail to mention that we had communicated with you via email on pricing and labor times and part costs before any work was done on your vehicle. You also fail to mention the things we did for you outside the scope of your cars repair, the shipping of your parts back to where you had purchased them, evaluating your broken, used parts to see if they could be repaired and usable before we sent them back to the seller for you etc.

You also fail to mention the 45 minutes I spent with you in the shop talking about aftermarket performance options for
your car AFTER you had paid for the repairs and had the keys to your car. If you were so upset, why would you stay at the shop talking with me for that amount of time?

Once again, I am very disappointed in this, we saved you a bunch of money in not performing repairs that your car did NOT need. Your 1999 Audi A8 4.2V8 with 190,000 miles is a very expensive car to maintain and repair.

There is a reason that you found nothing but good reviews on all of the forums you visited, we are great at what we do and we dont cut corners and use cheap parts. This can lead to repair costs that sometimes out weight the value of the vehicle at that time it's the choice of the customer to proceed or not.

I'm sorry you dont feel like you received great service,

Chris B.

False Accusations

Fist of all I'd like to say that Advanced Technologies has ALWAYS been known as a reputable service facility. Everything that the vehicle needed aside from what the customer "requested" was made aware to the customer by several phone calls and emails, including estimates.

Customer Vehicle needed the following:
Power Steering Rack
Front Control Arms (upper and lower)
Oil Cooler

There was no pressure to the customer to have any of the repairs performed and sufficient time was allowed to the customer to make the decision to repair the vehicle or leave as is. We were even nice enough to UPS several packages back for the customer to where he bought the products as they were not needed or core items.

Several hours were spent of the phone with the customer discussing what was going on with his vehicle and that the costs far exceeded the value of the vehicle. The customer made the decision for certain services to be performed and they were performed by Advanced Technologies.

We use nothing but OE parts so yes the OE parts do cost more than aftermarket. An estimate is in fact that, AN ESTIMATE. The customer arrived with a vehicle that was not in very good shape. We, as a company, could have performed all the necessary work and charged the customer, but since we are reputable we did not!

We like to earn out customer's hard earned money, not take it.  Feel free to go to the dealership for that.
