my husband had paid for Aflac thru his job for a few years and then he had a ruptured vessel in his nose was rushed to the hospital and almost died lost 3 pints of blood was in a coma for 6 days and according to aflac they pay you for each pint of blood and so much for being in ICU. well we filed the claim and they denied it all and never paid anything. they are a big rip off. don't waste your money

depends on the policy purchased

AUTHOR: lwjdhs - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 31, 2012

wow, i wrecked my car and my renters insurance didn't pay me nothing! what a rip-off.  you have to have an illness/accident that you have purchased a policy for. aflac sells lots of different policies that cover different things.  i have received hundreds of dollars from aflac and have family members who have received thousands.  you must be too ignorant to even know what policy you have.

Why they advertise

AUTHOR: Robert Walker - (United States of America)

I had AFLAC and they also have you pay and then do not pay. There is a reason they advertise so much. they need new suckers to replace the old suckers that cancel and leave.

Two Sides to Every Story

AUTHOR: NoSoap - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 10, 2012

I am not an employee of Aflac, nor am I paid ANYTHING to post here.   What I am, however, is a policyholder who has filed many claims, and been paid on every one of them. I'm positive you are leaving something out of your story.   First off, not every policy pays for intensive care.  What kind of policy was it?  Did you give Aflac the correct documentation?

They are a legitimate insurance company, with over 60 million policyholders.   There has to be a REASON your claim didn't get paid.  Either it wasn't covered under your particular policy; maybe you are still in the "pre-existing" probation period (doubtful though, since you claim to have owned this for "years")...maybe you didn't provide the correct paperwork, I don't know.    But if this is a LEGITIMATE, COVERED claim, then please contact the Aflac Sales Office in your state.  You can find them in the phone book, or you can call the company, and they will tell you the name of the person to talk to, and their phone number.

It's wrong to call a company a "rip-off" simply because you had a health even tthat wasn't covered by your policy.   I truly hope you get some answers.
