I purchased a transmission from Joseph of AIM auto salvage on the receipt stated at 36,000 miles. upon delivery in California after the purchase of transmission at $1195 my mechanic certified Porsche BMW dealership had to report it to the Orange county sheriffs department here in California indicating that the Vin number and serial had been removed with no identifying serial numbers. he was unable to install that part due to the California law vin tampering 2321 criminal code trafficking in motor vehicles and or motor vehicle parts. my complaint was then filed with the department of the Orange county sheriffs here in California indicating illegally removing or altering vehicle identification and or part numbers and selling and possession of vehicle parts with altered or remove van Numbers to include cross state shipmentment. transmission was confiscated at that time by Orange county sheriffs department. I then contacted aim they told me to go pound sand that the transmission Vin number was removed due to a hazard and we all know that the Vin numbers are protected and factory riveted so not to be tampered or removed and in a visible location so that any law-enforcement agency can review serial numbers on engine blocks and transmission. after I sent him the paperwork and photographs indicating the law they have violated here in California and cross state shipment of altered or removed possible stolen item they said they would refund my money for the transmission, I was left with a $400 shipping charge. at that time I could not return the transmission due to it being illegal for me to possess or ship cross state with removed identification serial numbers. so I am left with a criminal case against them and have filed with the Tampa Police Department and orange county sheriffs department of California and filing a class-action suit. those who would like to participate in this action against AIM please contact me for we will have to contact an attorney in the state of Florida.
