  Aircare-Solutions placed an ad in the local advertising magazine. I arranged an appointment for the $89 duct-cleaning "special". It was special alright. At the appointed time, a man with horribly broken English showed up at my door. I was at work. My wife was home. He came inside and removed the cover for the AC unit. He began to tell her that there was dangerous black mold inside the one-year-old unit, and it would need to be cleaned and a UV light used throughout. He now wanted $1,000 instead of the $89. She sensed something wrong, and told him she would speak with me about it when I arrived. He asked her repeatedly why she can't make the decision immediately without informing me. That definitely threw up another red flag. She kept saying "not now" and he eventually left, disgruntled. Ducts were not cleaned. Just a scam performed. A professional came in later to inspect the unit, finding no "black mold" and declaring the unit clean. I'm shaking my head now just to think that some elderly person is forking out $1,000 to clean up "mold" from their unit that doesn't exist. My call back to the Aircare-Solutions office resulted in no information from a "shady" salesperson.
