Alamo Rent A Car scam, fraudulant damage report, Minneapolis Minnesota

 I rented a car from Alamo on Aug 31 and returned it Sept 2. I drove it less than 100 miles -- the car had 12,000 miles on it. When I rented it, it was in a dark parking ramp -- I was handed the keys, the car was just out of the wash. There was no way to inspect the car -- they do not do walk arounds.

I drove it 4 times, in none could damage occur. Once from airport to my brother's house parked on his driveway. Second to the nursing home where my wife had dies a few days earlier, parked nose in on their lot. Third my wifes's funeral parked on the grass next to gravesite. Fourth back to airport.

When I checked in, the inspector looked at the car casually then went to front bumper and shoed me a tiny, imperceptible indentation. It could never have been seen when I took the car but I am sure it was there BEFORE I drove away.

I recieved a damage claim letter from Alamo a week later. When I investigated this type of claim, I found that there were dozens of other complaints about how Alamo attempts to screw customers with bogus damage claims. I am one of them! Do not rent from this company unless you are prepared to get hit with a similar complaint.
