I WAS WITH AMERIQUEST FOR 4 YEARS AND WITNESS FRAUD DAY IN AND DAY OUT. THE PROCESSORS WAS JANE DIAZ SHE WAS AS DIRTY AS THEY COME. I SAW HER DO FAKE TAXES AND PAYSTUBS. NOT ONLY WAS SHE DIRTY SHE USED TO BRING A PISTOL TO WORK EVERYDAY IN HER PURSE, I THOUGHT WE WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE FIREARMS AT WORK.

FROM ALEX MENDEZ TAKING PEOPLE TO STRIP CLUBS AND PAYING FOR SEXUAL FAVORS FROM STRIPPERS. HE WOULD PROMISE PROMOTIONS TO KEEP US SILENT. I'M SORRY I WAS A LITTLE LATE IN REPORTING BUT I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS SITE.

I AM A SUCCESSFUL MANAGER WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. MARIANO WOULD PREACH GET THE LOAN DONE BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY, WHICH WOULD MEAN FAKE DOCUMENTATION. GO FIGURE I HEARD THEY MADE THIS GUY VICE PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY, NOW THAT SHOWS WHAT KIND OF COMPANY THIS IS.

NOW I'VE BEEN GONE FOR ABOUT A YEAR, AND I SEE THE COMPANY HASN'T CHANGED THEIR PRACTICES BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST SETTLING A 325MIL LAWSUIT FOR SCREWING PEOPLE OVER WITH HIGH CLOSING COSTS AND HIGH INTEREST RATES BECAUSE THERE CREDIT ISN'T PERFECT. BEWARE OF AMERIQUEST THERE LOANS WILL PUT YOU IN FINANCIAL RUIN.

What is the going rate an Ameriquest manager will pay an employee that works at a small finance company to report 24 months satisfactory credit on a customer they have never had a loan with ?
We used to pay 500 a pop to our guy. Has it gone up or have they gone legit ?

I did this with a company in Bremerton, Washington. I had a problem with a new car that should have been taken care of immediately under warrantee...they balked saying it was my fault.

What I did was be very polite, and inform them of what I was going to do next. Then instead of just talking about it, I did this:

1. Contacted local newspapers and TV stations and invited them to see a "developing story" that was going to happen in front of a dealership that ripped me off.

2. Made a professional looking picket sign that stated "I got ripped off here"

3. Proceeded to walk up and down in front of their dealership (on a public walk/street) at the time I told the media to be there. Don't expect them to show up...but telling the dealer you alerted them even makes them truly nervous. (suggestion...if nobody shows up, be prepared to have a buddy around with a video camera and microphone who looks professional and possibly like a newsperson - both to document any harassment you may receive by the dealer and/or cops and to make the dealer think that they are a media outlet).

Needless to say, the dealer wasn't too happy that I was parading around in front of their business and called the cops. When the cops arrived, I reminded them that I was on public property and have a freedom to express an opinion...and that I wasn't naming names on my signage...just stating a generality.

For all that anyone was concerned, me getting "ripped off" could pertain to damned near anything, so they left me alone since I wasn't slandering anyone in particular (you have to do avoid using the company name or you could be in trouble there).

One local newspaper showed up, and if you want to see a dealership cave in to my demands, it was done then and there and to more than my satisfaction. If no media shows up, you at least have your buddy's tape you can send to the media on your own...and the dealer will in NO WAY want that to happen. The cops also won't want to be taped harassing you either.

This method works on any aggregious company...please feel free to copy it and paste it into other responses to help people out. Be aware that the cops could take you away in their car, but cannot press charges if you are on public property expressing an opinion without malice or using a name. DO NOT..repeat...DO NOT get beligerant in any way...stay calm and matter-of-fact.

Do this with the pond scum of Ameriquest...make sure you talk to anyone and everyone entering and exiting that looks like a customer.

The fact of the matter is I know who "Tony" is being as I worked in close contact with Human Resources until recently. On top of the fact that the office where they were located was destroyed so badly under his watch that the branch has to move to a new location because their current building basically tossed them out, they were a hub for fraud. "Selling loans like men" meant do whatever it takes to get paid regardless what happens to the borrower. I had a couple of loans of their's land on my desk during one of their many investigations, and it was RIPE with fraud. He was on his way out anyway, but I give him credit for being smart enough to bail out before he got canned. That Miami office was a toilet while he and his guys were there. I found out very recently that he now works at a mortgage company no one has ever even heard of. But that will change once he or one of his little underlings that followed him defraud someone and they appear on rip off report themselves. Just the fact that "Tony" works for the biggest fraud master in Ameriquest history over in the new company is proof positive he's full of crap. It goes to show you that now that the company is moving in the right direction and move away from fraud, he decides to go work for someone who thinks fraud is a great way of doing things. If the rumors are true "Tony" will be broke and in a rehab clinic by 2007. For his sake I hope I'm wrong, but unfortunately I don't think I am.

My name is Tom and i am a state licenced mortgage broker in Ohio.

I have never used ameriquest. I have never borrowed off ameriquest nor have i ever worked at ameriquest.

I have been coming to this site for some time now and what i see about ameriquest is quite concerning.

More than the countless irate homeowners stuck in huge prepayment penalities trying to get out. More than folks stuck in over appraised homes who now dont have the equity to get away. More than the many who figured out too late that $10,000 to refi a 120k house and 9% interest with a 775 fico might have been excessive -and now are willing to pay large to get away.

More than this - i overwhelminly see ex employees of Ameriquest whailing 'fraud' scandal and other wize over and over. Sniding -bitching and generally spitefull.

I have come to learn its one thing to make a killing off innocent americans working at ameriquest. It doesnt seem to bother them when they are rakin it in.

Its when they get booted out for whatever and or fraud themselves that NOW they drape themselves in some holy american flag and cry foul. I see it over and over and over.

they work there for years then get fired - AND ONLY NOW WHINE ABOUT AMERIQUEST.

What a joke. you mean your MAD cause u cant keep soaking folks down yourselves. YOUR FIRED.

You see - i make over $100000 bucks a year - how? by ripping folks off like ameriquest? No.
I make deals and work hard and get referrals by my customers. I work for myself and keep all the commission - thus only have to charge 2k instead of 9k to make the same amount. I dont have to share it with 500 greedy superiors up the ameriquest chain.

so my borrower gets a good deal. i dont have to rip them off to make money -and i make lots of money.

i actually feel SORRY for those ameriquest guys who slave like pigs to make ameriquest -not themselves rich. and all the folks they rip off.

its a shame. and its an ugly ugly company.

This is first to Kyla. You work at Ameriquest and have never committed fraud? I find that hard to believe. The entire company is fraudulent. I'm a current customer and I am going to pay the $8,000 to get out.

And to Tony of Miami.....you say you made a million working at this lying, theiving, unreputable company? I just hope you can sleep at night knowing how many people you have ripped off. Why don't you go buy yourself some counseling with your big stash made from making people miserable and homeless?

And lastly.....Tony of Montana-Miami is just an idiot. Yeah, you are a bad a*s for working for a company that makes it's money ripping off innocent people trying to make a decent living.

I will be the one laughing when this stupid company goes under and believe me, it will. There are way too many people getting ripped off and, if they are like me, they will not sit back and let it happen. Governors, Senators and the Attorney General have been informed and YOUR company is being checked out.

I so look forward to the day when Ameriquest closes it's doors and the employees find it very hard to find employment elsewhere after working for this scumbag company. Good luck!

First of all, its obvious you have something against Ameriquest and it goes deeper then you thinking the company is so awful and will put someone through financial ruin. I am an underwriter for the company and the company has tightened up their approval process like you wouldn't believe. I find myself wanting to rip my hair out because it is so difficult to get an approval. All documentation is sent to our corporate office up front and supporting documentation for all documentation. (it gets pretty crazy) Not only that a few states, including mine are required to use a "Borrower Benefit Worksheet" which puts our loans through a series of tests to ensure there is great benefit to the borrower. Our motto "Its not your loan, its their home". We are trained to treat each loan like its for your mother father sister or cousin. I have NEVER commited fraud or been asked to do so. I love my company and stand behind it 100%. We don't force anything on our borrowers. Everything is there in black and white. Nothing is a secret. On top of that you have 7 days to rescind. so the problem is what? So you say we have high closing costs, thats your opinion.If a borrower thinks our costs are too high they don't have to take the loan. Its that simple. Get over it, you obviously miss working for us...

This Pony has more than one trick I guess. Not only did I make well over a Million last year with Ameriquest but I also got out before the rains began to fall and landed a job with another lender making even more money. I guess this pony has great timing. Speaking of Ponies, maybe I should buy one with all the money I make?????? Or maybe I could buy a car with the scanners and scramblers....hahahahaha. Your words speak volumes about the stench that permeates the Ameriquest offices around the country.

The espirit d' corps you describe with your fellow AMC gangbangers is an apt example of a true AMC "refi monkey".

I wonder why you use the past tense in your writings. Is it possibly because you do not have a job in the industry any longer? All "1-trick ponies" break a leg eventually and the vet has to "put them down". You and Ameriquest are history vato.

When Ameriquest put in place an automated system to speed mortgage processing, it cut more than half of the 50 steps used to administer loans.

However, it also eliminated some of the checks that verified that the information on an application, such as a borrower's salary, was accurate.

Former Ameriquest loan officers charge that fellow mortgage processors took advantage of the situation to push through loans for borrowers who weren't qualified to receive themoften at inflated fees.

Mark Bomchill, for example, worked as a loan processor at Ameriquest in 2003.

He says he was driven to quit not only by questionable loans, but by the unabashed joy his colleagues took in getting the highest possible rates from unsuspecting borrowers.

"These guys were cheering and high-fiving each other before the clients even got to their cars in the parking lot," he says.

Ameriquest: Making Mortgages a Little Too Easy

When Ameriquest put in place an automated system to speed mortgage processing, it cut more than half of the 50 steps used to administer loans.

However, it also eliminated some of the checks that verified that the information on an application, such as a borrower's salary, was accurate.

Former Ameriquest loan officers charge that fellow mortgage processors took advantage of the situation to push through loans for borrowers who weren't qualified to receive themoften at inflated fees.

Mark Bomchill, for example, worked as a loan processor at Ameriquest in 2003.

He says he was driven to quit not only by questionable loans, but by the unabashed joy his colleagues took in getting the highest possible rates from unsuspecting borrowers.

"These guys were cheering and high-fiving each other before the clients even got to their cars in the parking lot," he says.

I have visited this site on numerous occassions and often times have found myself torn. I sometimes agree with employee or consumer expression and often times sympathize with peoples turmoil and emotional hardship. However recently, I have noticed a new trend forming and would like to voice my opinion. First of all, I am an ex ameriquest employee, infact I resigned in the not too distant past. Having spent a fair amount of time with this company, both in an entry level and managerial capacity, I have been exposed to an abundance of behaviors, people and procedures. For a majority portion of my career I worked in south florida, and enjoyed my time there greatly. This satisfaction was not a result of money or greed but rather education and people. This company taught me a tremendous amount about myself, both professionally and as a man. In a recent post on this site an employee spoke out about two people in particular, Jane Diaz and Alex Mendez. There were allegations of fraud, poor ethical behavior, and poor decisions. I know not only these individuals well, but also the majority of others named periodically on this site. First of all, Jane is a phenominal person. Hard working, ethical, and guided by her own motivation. Whoever the individual is who elected to condemn her publically on this site may have his or her own issues with Jane, but I find it of poor character to air your dirty laundry in public. Secondly, in regards to Alex Mendez and his allegations of sexual misconduct, this is a farce. If a grown man, who works hard and is single, chooses to visit a "gentlemans club" he is entitled. When did people on this site become God and find it appropriate to not only judge another mans character, but also to attempt to correlate personal activity with occupational performance? I was fortunate enough to work for and with Alex Mendez for a great portion of my career, and to this day call him a friend. He is a leader of great measure, a man of great character and in my experience never once comromised himself occupationally, ethically or as a man. If people choose to voice their opinions about this company, please do you, you are entitled. I admit however, that is is dissapointing to hear people condemn individuals characters. Alex, Jane, and Mariano are all people who I proudly call friends and know as individuals of integrity, character, and ethic. Does Ameriquest have its issues, obviously it does, but if you can find any company its size anywhere in the world without flaw I will gladly revolke my words. Companies grow and industries change, it is a constant adjustment corporate america makes. Accountibility is rare in this life, and at least Ameriquest has acknowledged it errors, settled suits to make amends and admit the error of its ways, and currently continues to make strides towards improvement. Ram - Man, Vomit, Ms. Montana, Bassero, Babbit, The Exfoliator, Unibrow, Tiny, YeYo, Git R' Done, Mr. Carpono, Fat Joe, and all... I am greatful for our run together! In the meantime, Ram Man retains his office title as "Best Looking".
