APX Alarms liars and bad constumer service Provo Utah

Well about a month ago in August, a young man came to my door he told me he was from Apx and that since there has been some break-ins in the neighborhood they were out the installing free alarm systems. I talked to him and he told me my house would be an advertising home and I could cancel my service at anytime without any reprocautions all I had to do is keep the sign up for them. I thought great( little did I know) so another guy came and installed it in about 1 hour. Up to now the alarm has been working good, but when I called to cancel because I was getting a better price with someone else they said I had a contract for 5 years with them and the only was to cancel was to pay off the reminder of the contract in full.
By the way the guy that came to my door his name is Josh Grover, straight up liar ugggg what aggrivates me so much is that he lied to my face and my kids were there. I keep calling constumer service and I get is the same story and bad service. If anyone knows if there a class action lawsuit please let me know. I don't know what else to do this is aggrievating.
