One week before my graduation ceremony, I get a letter saying I have been dismissed because I timed out of my degree program. This is after I had completed 69 credits (only 60 are required for graduation), paid for participating in the ceremony, received my tickets for family and friends to come, paid for and received my cap and gown, all to find out that I have been academically dismissed again. I have been attending Argosy since 2014 to get my degree in Psychology so I could be a crisis counselor. During those years I had to travel frequently for business and had a series of health issues and the death of my grandfather that had taken it's toll on my grades, so I was academically dismissed. I then appealed my dismissal, won, and was reinstated with no time off my program. I have been making monthly payments to Argosy to "repay" the financial aid department for the classes that I was unsuccessful in, which I retook and passed. I currently have almost $50,000 in student loans and no degree to show for it. Once I received the letter announcing that I was dismissed, I immediately emailed my so-called advisers who have yet to return my calls or numerous emails. I am so disappointed with the actions of Argosy and their staff. I wanted to make my kids proud, and show them that all things are possible when you put your mind to it. I feel like a fool and a failure.
