If you purchased a copy of the Arizona Republic in a Mesa store on Sunday July 17, 2011 then the likelihood that you received NO COUPONS in your copy was very high.  We bought 5 papers at our local dollar store and not one of them had any coupons in it. We watched as the store clerk removed the plastic binding and put them out for sale so we know for a fact there was no tampering with the papers.

Upset, we called the Arizona Republic. My partner spoke to a woman who was of absolutely no help what-so-ever. In fact she tried to sell us a subscription instead stating that was the ONLY way we were guaranteed to get any coupons. My partner ended up speaking to a manger named Pearl. She was advised that, on a regular basis, the Arizona Republic sends papers out to local stores with NO COUPONS in them. She said it happens when they run out of the inserts. Only people with a subscription are guaranteed any coupons and this happens frequently.

My partner asked about the signs that the stores have on the new stands indicating how much money in coupons the paper is supposed to have and advised Pearl that was false advertising. Peal gave us another number to call and said they would be open on Monday. My partner called this morning and continued to get the run around.

It seems that no one at the Arizona Republic is willing to accept any responsibility for ripping of their customers! We bout 5 papers and we want the darn coupons! We have 2 kids, my partner is unemployed and I am the only one working. We need those coupons! It's garbage that the only way they can "guarantee" that you get the coupons is to pay for home delivery.....
