Ashley Furniture Homestore Rude, abusive Customer Service when damaged Furniture was brought back Hickory North Carolina

I purchased a very expensive Living Room Suit and Dinning Room Suit from Ashley Furniture Homestore in Hickory. The Dining Room Suite was purchased from the floor but was inspected thoroughly prior to the purchase and was found to be in good shape.

When the furniture arrived at my house, 5 of the 8 chairs were missing due to being damaged when shipped according to the delivery person. New Chairs were supposedly reordered. When they were delivered, several, and I mean several weeks later they were also damaged. I was not at home when they were delivered so my girlfriend accepted them without checking them out. She assumed that since they were new, they would be OK.

When I got home, I found the damage on them. After several calls back and forth to the store, they finally told me to bring them back and they would reorder new ones. When I got the chairs to the store the manager (I am assuming it was the manager, I didn't get HER name) became beligerent, abusive and implied that the damage was not done prior to delivery or that her delivery person would have been fired. I'm not accoustomed to being called a liar or of doing anything dishonest, so I became very upset and we exchanged some heated words.

All the time, we were out front of the store around other customers and some child that I do not know who he belonged to. I plan to contact someone with the store management if possible, if no success, the better business bureau and the State's consumer protection agency in Raleigh to file a formal complaint. Not that it will do anything other than make me feel better.

I will never, ever darken the doors of any Ashley Furniture Homestore again. I will make it my life's ambition to warn anyone that is interested in purchasing furniture to stay clear of these stores unless they are a gluten for punishment!
