Ashley Furniture Store; aka Ashley Homestore Of Brunswick Delivered an extremely unacceptable product 651 Scranton Road Georgia

I purchased a 2 piece living room set from this store late Feb. 08. The product was delivered March 4, 08. Upon inspecting this furniture, I found several defects. I immediately contacted the company, only to be treated rudely by an employee. I told this employee to have the manager contact me asap, as this product was totally unacceptable. She said she would have him call me that evening.

After waiting 3 weeks, the sales rep contacted me. The store manager told him to handle it, as he was never told about the situation. In the meantime I filed a dispute against them with my credit card company and their financial (Wells Fargo) institution they use. I also emailed Ashley Furniture store (corporate headquarters). I have yet to get an apology from them. They apparently threw this problem back to store level.

With all the correspondence I had with the sales rep(that sold us the product), not one time did the manager consult with us. They blamed all of it on the employee who took my original call, claiming they never knew anything about the problem.

I had previously given away my 35 year old set that was still in excellent conditon, anticipating my new furniture arrival. The set I gave away was in better shape than the new set they delivered. I am still without a living room set and am sorry I gave away my other set.

I have several pics of the defective furniture and I strongly urge all consumers not to deal with Ashley Furniture store. They advertise that they design and build all their furniture, which is an out right lie! When they delivered my furniture, it was brought in a "Jesup Outlet Furniture Store" truck. I asked about this during my correspondence, "why am I getting furniture delivered from......". I never received a reply.

Everytime I hear a commercial of AFS, my skin crawls! We recently had a new store open in our area and I really wanted to boycott and forewarn consumers not to shop there, but I thought that would have been a little overboard!

Anyone interested in seeing my pics of this so-called designed and built furniture from AFS, I will be glad to share them.

I finally got them to come and pick up the furniture and credit my credit card and dissolve the financial agreement with Wells Fargo. It was a battle from hell and I will never deal with them again and I also tell everyone I know NOT to buy from them.

I still have not heard from corporate headquarters regarding this ordeal. How sad, that customer service is no longer a priority.
