On April 9th 2003 or so I ordered 920 sq.ft. of flooring from this rip-off company. I was told the floor was in stock and would be shipped as soon as they recieved my check. I sent them a check for $2014 and waited to hear from them concerning shipment. After several calls to COLE who took my order, I was unable to get any answers except that the company they were to get my floor from went out of business so I wouldnt be getting my floor for another month. He said I could get a refund if I didn't want to wait.

Of course I would wait, after all I wanted the floor not my money back. The more I thought about his attiude the more upset I became. I called back and spoke to the BIG cheese Neal. He told me that the company that they were getting it from had gone "t**s up"
after all things happen and he only passes on what he is told by the factory. My god, his own company and he cant even trust the word of his own factory. I havent recieved any flooring and am fed up to my eyeballs with Mr. Martins antics. I have never been ripped off before and I don't intend to let the My favorite Martins be the first even If I have to take a little trip out to Ga. myself...

or better yet how about all of us who are unhappy with them show up at their doorstep together...that ought to attract some great publicity.Lets not drop the ball on this one.

My family is full of attorneys just chomping at the bit on this one. Sometimes you cross the wrong person. Get in touch all and lets get em!

An uopdate on BeaverFloor and Neal Martin

AUTHOR: Beth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 07, 2004

For those consumers who are on the NY case, the As't DA had to go back to court and get a amendment ton increase the resisitution amount from $500,000 to $720,000. Don't forget, this total represents 83cents on the dollar. Because of the increase Neal MArtin has also been extended time to pay. The VICTIMS of Neal Martin may see the remaining portion of their refund in 2005. This settlement is for customers, not VENDORS. I have spoken with 3 vendors who shipped flooring to Neal Martin. They are out approx. $130,000. So for those people who received floor, think about this FACT before you make excuses for this intricate fraudulent company. Never mind the previous settlements with Beaverhome, never mind the civil cases in NY, FL, GA and who knows where else. I've determined Neal Martin has screwed trusting consumers/vendors out of at least a million dollars. This is what I have found out.
I'm sure there are more customers/vendors out there who have not posted due to Neals clever business tactics. Neal Martin is well aware of the posts on line. "If you post, you'll never get your floor/refund". Lake Lanier is a beautiful community in Gainesville, GA. I wonder if we all helped paid for the house.

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 06, 2004

After reading all this, i'm glad I never went with the company in question. But overall you people are only happy to get what you deserved in the first place! Your money back!
So think about it? 83 cents on the dollar?, nothing at all? company gone bankrupt? It's all the same.

wish I had read all this before I ordered

AUTHOR: J.P. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 10, 2004

So did Carl ever show..? WOW, Are you kidding me
I wish I had read all this before I ordered and sent Neil my check for $4000.00 in June of 2003.
It is now January of the new year and still no floor or responce for my request for a refund.
This web site has been helpfull, I now know what to expect and I have found the names and numbers of authorities to contact.

I am a repeat customer for Beaver, I ordered back in April of 99 and had no trouble at all, that is why I had no reservations in placing my second order.

Nice way to treat a repeat customer or anyone for that matter.

I live in a new subdivision and myself along with all my neighbors are finishing our basements and were looking forward to see how nice Beavers engineered floor looked......WEEELLLL it's gonna look like Ceramic Tile while I research getting my money back from Neil.

Neil has not only lost My business he has also lost orders from several of my Neighbors that would have ordered after I laid my floor.
IF YOU GOT A REFUND FOR $4000.00 OR LESS AFTER JUNE 2003 THANK ME

PETER JUST GOT ROBBED TO PAY PAUL.
Oh Yea...Tell us Did Carl ever show up

Carl's thought processes are flawed.

AUTHOR: Roseann - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 08, 2003

I hate the fact that Carl tries to justify the business practices of Beaverfloor. His postings totally ignore the inconvenience, monies spent and hours of work and worry consumers have to suffer at Neil Martin's hands.

If the company is turning itself around, it is of little solace to the many who have lost money. Although I received a refund, I lost money. Many of us deserve money for pain, expenses and suffering incurred because of our Beavefloor purchase.

I'D LOVE TO MEET "CARL" ..We could meet at Hemmingways on South main Street

AUTHOR: Derrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 16, 2003

I live less than 10 minutes from "Carl". I am a supplier who has been bilked for more than 2 years to the tune of almost $13,000. Kneel tried to get me to send a second load before the first one was paid for, but thankfully the President of the company would not allow it. Hey Carl, if your walking around on a nice new Massaranduba floor, it's the same as walking around on MY KIDS food, rent, clothes and necessities. Yeah, I had to eat most of the 13 grand.

We were told, promised, assured that the check was sent, signed, fed-x'd, on it's way for over 6 months, when we knew none of it was true.
The feeling in my stomach the day I realized the cash would never come is still fresh in my throat. Ulcers and all...thanks Kneel, Cole-Slaw & STACY.

I recently talked to Kneel and he said he could have gone belly up, but his integrity wouldn't allow it.

I "may" see money in a year or two, after all lawsuits are settled.
I'm not holding my breath.
I asked him to please...please...pay somthing, anything as a measure of good faith (we sent him a full truckload of massaranduba on good faith). He flat out refused.

Carl, I would really like to actually see the installed floor and meet you.

We could meet at Hemmingways on South main Street or at Geoffs on Benefit street or the Trinity Brew Pub near the theatre. Your choice. (I'm not mad, but I am resigned to the fact that I trusted a person, and was burned for $13,000. In my 15 + years in the lumber business, this was a first.)
If you are for real, this will settle any questions people may have regarding your "authenticity"

Would you really reccomend this company to freinds/family after all you've read ???

The Martins of Beaverfloor were removed

AUTHOR: Chuck - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 13, 2003

Beacuse of all of the consumer complaints the Martin boys were required to leave Beaverfloor.
We ordered flooring and cabinets early in 2002. Only after delays and promises that went unfulfilled for months did I ask for my monies back. Of course now the NY Attorney General will recover 83 cents on the dollar over time but somebody has had a good time with the 17 cents differential. No indication of how to collect the 17 cents but I expect I'll have to do that myself. Based upon the lengthly list of folks that have lost monies I expect it totals millions. My other error was to trust so I gutted my kitchen. I used a microwave, BBQ and Coleman stove with paper plates for some 18 months.

this is a truly amazing dialogue

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 09, 2003

I first saw people complaining that they had'nt gotten a refund. I then posted that I had gotten mine. Then' Rose posted that she was happy I received "chump change" while those due larger refunds were still waiting. Then, apparently' she received her refund and was unhappy that it may not clear the bank. When her check which sounds to be in excess of $7000 , cleared she was still unhappy that she had to wait so long and still lost money. Please!!!!!!! Do you not understand that this company could be long gone with your money long ago if they had gone bankrupt! Be happy that they were able to turn things around and actually send you a refund. They are still operating and that is the only reson anyone will get their refund. They have been doing enough business to actually pay their employees and bills. They have even recently made a rather large payment to the NY atty. general so that refunds to those people will be going out soon. They have done what they were required to do in order to stay in business. They do ' in my estimation' deserve credit for that. Ok, maybe they should'nt have taken some of the orders that they did if they knew they could'nt fill them as timely as promised, but they were obviously having difficulties and maybe didn't take the best route possible to solve them. Bottom line, you got your refund...be thankful. you, were not included in the law suit and those payments had to be made first in order for you to have ever gotten your check. you got it. The company is obviously making money. There have not been any new complaints on recent orders posted in quite some time. They are still doing business, enough to pay everyone and I believe that shortly most will get their refunds. Stop bashing Neal. As I said before, I have no pesonal stake in the survival of his company but I have a business of my own and I know how difficult it can be. You were all looking for a deal. Many got what they ordered. Some did not. Maybe you would have been better served to have purchased locally. In my case I'm happy.

Check cleared, shocked and happy

AUTHOR: Roseann - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 09, 2003

My beaverfloors refund check cleared on September 8th. I am shocked and happy for myself, but I have great emphathy for the many people I have spoke to over the past few months who still have not received refunds. It is my understanding that those who cancelled their orders before March 2003 will not get refunds directly from the company but rather through class action suits or judgments through the New York Attorney General. These refunds will be for approximately 75 cents on the dollar.

Although I received a refund, I still lost money. I lost over $2500. in interest on my construction loan with delays directly caused by the non-delivery of the hardwoods. Additionally, my experience with beaver caused me a great deal of stress and wasted a lot of my time. I have a record of over 100 calls that I made to beaver in a seven month time period in an attempt to get my order delivered.

I would never recommend that anyone deal with this company. There are many other alternatives in the flooring world.

Chump change refunded while the rest of us wait!

AUTHOR: Rose - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 18, 2003

It's nice to know that Neil has returned under $1000. to someone. Nonetheless there are many of us,owed totals well in excess of $100,000.,(this information was provided by the NY Attorney General).

I am waiting for a refund of over $7000. from Beaverfloors. I purchased my flooring in January 2003.

As of Friday August 15th, according to The Fishman Accounting Firm (the company now handling refunds for Beaverfloor), my name is on the list for a refund but the refund account is empty and any checks they send out would bounce. So Carl, congratulations, I'm glad it worked out for you. Those of us that spent big money are still waiting.

I'll be sure to let this web-site know when mine comes!

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 17, 2003

I just wanted all to know that I did get my refund...all $814.00 of it and YES, it did clear the bank. I ended up with select cherry for $3.50 a SQ. delivered. Not too bad if you ask me. Neal came through as he said he would. He admitted there was a mistake in shipping and offered me a new shipment or a refund. Obviously I chose the later. A positive outcome for me from the beavers and i'm sure for many others also...good luck all.

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 01, 2003

You only wish that I was really neal! I used a false name in my first post but have used my real one since. I own my own small business and agree that everyone who has had a legitimate complaint with this company should be satisfied but I also believe that the truth is the truth and i'm not about to bash a company, have my complaint responded to positively, and let that go without making it known also. I think to do that would be totally unfair to the company and I would'nt want that done to me. All too often people only speak of the negative and seem to forget when it comes to positives. Neal Martin has made mistakes and addmiittedly so. I believe he is trying to turn his company around and for that I give him credit. I do not know him personnally nor did I ever hear of him before I placed my order. Companies have problems and choose to handle them in different ways. Some good...some bad. According to the reports i've read and what i've been told by Neal himself, He has made mistakes and is paying for them. No business person would have handled things any better. At least they did'nt claim bancruptcy and say screw everyone. They certainly could have. Neal Martin owes me a partial refund for a problem I have with the order I received. Yes folks my order wasn't problem free either and when I get it(my refund) i'll let you know and will also let you know if I don't. I believe I will get it. Furthermore, an aquaintance of mine is planning on doing quite a bit of business with Beaverfloor after many conversations with Neal. There are happy customers out there also. Unfortunately, they don't bother to post. Best wishes all...

It is so strange that Fred and Carl from two totally diferrent states are the originators of this string. Fred who's family is full of lawyers sounds enticing but I won't bite. This smells of the BadBeaver.

People who have had good experiences would have no reason to be looking for and posting to these types of lists.

It really sniffs of Neal trying to get some good PR out there.

Facts about BeaverFloor

AUTHOR: Rick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 19, 2003

FACT: I ordered over $7K of flooring from BeaverFloor in April 2002

FACT: I never received any flooring or a refund

FACT: I received many letters from Neil Martin with empty promises and outright lies (anyone interested in copies of these I will gladly share them)

FACT: Neil has settled with the AG in NY and will is required to make the payments he outlined

FACT: If you think SETTLING for 83 CENTS ON THE dollar for a refund is a GOOD deal try ordering and getting your money back from NEIL

FACT: ATTEMPTING TO ORDER FROM NEIL MARTIN COST ME OVER $1,200.00

FACT: This was my third order with Neil. The first two (which took forever) but I did receive. You think Neil cares about repeat business, think again.

FACT: Previously spent $6K with Neil. Brought him over $19K in business through family and friends. Over $25K in business and he has no issues not delivering goods or witholding refunds

FACT: A settlement check from the AG has not been issued yet. One half this summer (at the 83 cents on the dollar) and another next year (same terms). You think that's fair and Neil's an honest person. Think again.

FACT: I will never recommend or do business with this company again.

I have one question, are you Carl from RI or Fred from PA?

For the record, these posts on this site and others are all true facts. I have spoken with a great majority of these victims of BeaverFloor. We all have the proof of the untruths told to us by Neal Martin and small group of loyal employees. You only ordered in April 2003 and you were upset! Try waiting over 6 months when you've paid upfront for a product that was sold to you in stock!! IF Neal Martin goes out of his way in customer service, then why are their victims still owed over a half a million dollars. The only way not to be a victim of BeaverFloor is to not order from them.

response to consumer advocate .. i was "bribed" by the company to change my report.I was'nt to happy

the facts didnt change at all and i resent the insinuation that i was "bribed" by the company to change my report.I was'nt to happy with the company at first but this i now feel was largely due to the reports i read here. i assumed that they were accurate and that the same would happen to me. Fortunately, the company did follow through,i did receive my order in 5 weeks as promised and i have been getting the best in customer service since taking receipt of my order. If you consider a company that goes out of their way to service a customer after the sale a "bribe",then I guess I was. However, I just consider it great business!

neal martin provides the best in customer service!

I cant understand what people could be complaining about neal and his company for. I think the only reason I thought I had a problem in the first place is from reading negative comments on here. Neal continues to email me , concerned about my flooring installation and how it's going and seems determined to make sure I am satisfied with his company and his product. I suggest you give beaverfloor a try. I continue to be impressed.

neal martins very positive follow up email

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 09, 2003

I have to give neal credit. He did not need to follow up my order with an email but he did. I believe that posting much of what he told me would go along way at building his companies image. As I said before, the floor I recieved was in my opinion, just short of amazing. This is to mr. martin's and his companies credit. Mr. Martin has also made himself available to me should I encounter any installation problems.

This is also appreciated. All in all I think this is his way of "burying the hatchet". With me, he may consider it burried. I would recommend his company although I still stress you should not be in a hurry to get your floor. Be patient: it's worth it. The bottom line is I would order from him again and trust that he would deliver as wonderful a product as he has this time.

the ugly truth ..He will invent , twist , alter and downright lie just to keep from admitting he made a mistake

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 07, 2003

Sometimes you just have to admit when you're wrong. This is one thing that Neal Martin will never do. He will invent , twist , alter and downright lie just to keep from admitting he made a mistake. That is his weakness. However, what some of you may see as the "ugly truth", appears to be his strong suit.Like it or not , Mr. Martin does make a good product. Oh sure , I had to wait and jump through hoops to finally get my floor , but the bottom line is when I did it was more than I expected. I believe in honesty so no matter my personal feelings toward Mr. Martin , I would recommend his floor. Mind you it has'nt been installed yet. I'll be sure to let you know if my opinion changes when it is. One suggestion, reading these posts could make you crazy. If you ordered from this company and your order was delayed, reading these posts could have you believing you may never get your floor or when and if you do it will be a total disaster. The company causes these fears to be exagerated by their poor meathods of lies and half truths. If your floor is delayed and you are told honestly that it was and you are given a new delivery date give a week or two , I think that would go a long way at gaining customers confidence. Mr. Martin told me in no uncertain terms ,"I,m not in business to make friends, I'm in business to make flooring " . In all honesty , truer words were never spoken.

a positive response from neal martin...i think

AUTHOR: Carl - (U.S.A.)

alas my order has shipped. i was given the tracking number of the freight line and my order is due to arrive here friday. However there is one problem which still haunts me and is causing me to still feel uneasy about this company. Mr. martin wanted me to fill out paperwork authorizing him to collect payment from my account before i received the merchandise. Ordinarily I would not have a problem doing this but I didnt even expect to pay such a big deposit when Im did and after weeks of being told that my order would ship" this week" , and that not happening, well, i'm sure no sane person would take such a chance, especially with neal's track record according to several posts I've read. Honestly, I hate to have to complain and this is the first time I have been driven to such extremes as posting on these boards but I cant believe things like this happen. Instead of making things right, shipping the product to me as promised, finally, and to late for my installer i might add,mr martin demanded payment and threatened to cancel my order."We dont do cod. under any circumstances" , was his rather harshly asserted statement. He then proceeded to hang up on me. All I wanted was to make sure my entire order was delivered upon which I would have gladly provided him a credit card or would have handed the truck driver a certified bank check. Instead of gaining my trust mr. martin faxed me a letter stating that he was changing the rules and that he would allow me to inspect two boxes. However, the order was now going to be delivered to the trucking terminal not my home and if i elected to accept the order,( which by the way I never considered not doing, I just wanted to see the entire order was shipped,) I would be responsible for transporting approx. 2560 lbs. of flooring to my home myself. Further, if i didnt accept the order which i didnt tell him to ship without being paid first if that is his proceedure, then i would have the shipping amount deducted from the amount he has already taken from me. what a way to make friends. However after all this I have to say that I still think There will be a good outcome to all of this. It certainly has been an experience and Mr. Martin sure makes it interesting. I've never spoken to anyone as quick with an answer as he is all be it not always the most amicable one. I hope he will have a change of heart and have the flooring delivered to my home. There would be a check waiting and I would look forward to hopefully telling each and every one of you what an absolutely amazing floor you will have if you only have some patience. thanks for reading this and check back to see how things turn out. I will tell you honestly!
