Someone stole my phone 3 months after I quit using it. They were able to take $75.00 out of my checking account & apply it to the phone. As soon as I realized they did this, I called Boost & had the phone suspended, the rep at Boost said there was still $66.00 on the phone that was not used of the $75.00. I filed a complaint with my bank like Boost told me to do. I called several times & they kept telling me it was being investigated still. 2 months after the fact, I called them again to inquire about my money & they said since the account had been closed more than 30 days, they couldn't give me my money back. Boost Mobile is a rip off company that steals from people. I really want to prosecute & hope an attorney contacts me & helps me.

That would be your responsibility

I pretty much have to agree with the above response, here. I know Boost has a bad habit of giving people the shaft, but once your phone was stolen, you could have immediately suspended it to prevent that card being used. Once that happens they couldn't just use 233 to reboost, they would have to call in and know your PIN to do anything. Also, you could have easily switched the account to another SIM card and requested a chargeback, by which we would take the money off your balance and put it back on your account.

Actually, you may have even been able to get a chargeback while it was suspended, though I'm not entirely sure as I've never come across that specific situation. It's pretty common knowledge that suspended accounts cancel after 30 days, and once that happens, you lose whatever was on it, including your balance. I'm sorry if someone didn't mention that, though I've never known a lost and stolen agent to not do so. However, it is still your responsibility to acquire the prudent information, so you could have just asked when the account would cancel so you would know exactly how much time you had.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

OKAY FIRST OF ALL , AS THE OWNER OF THE PHONE IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO REPORT YOUR PHONE STOLEN AS SOON AS IT IS STOLEN., THIS WOULD PREVENT SOMETHING LIKE THIS FROM HAPPENING. SECOND HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT BOOST IS STEALING YOUR MONEY WHEN YOU , YOURSELF STATED THAT THE PERSON WHO STOLE YOUR PHONE CHARGED THE MONEY TO THE ACCT?
