Budget Van Lines ripped off my money, Powhatan, Virginia

Budget Van Lines gave me a binding moving estimate for $1644., then proceeded to send an unprofessional trucking company on my moving day.  The trucking company wanted to charge me twice the amount of the estimate, and the driver did not even look at my inventory list.  When I tried to call Budget Van Lines, they wouldn't answer the phone.

When finally reaching Budget by phone, they would not help me resolve the issue, and instead stated that the dispatcher told them I have more inventory than was reported.  I told them that was wrong, because the driver did not even compare my inventory to the list or even look at my list, and told me that he "didn't have to look at the list."   The driver asked, "Well, how much can you afford?"  And then proceeded to call his dispatcher, and stated that they would do the job for $2600.  I explained to him that it was $1,000 more than Budget estimated to me, and that I could not pay so much more money, and that I had already paid a $606.00 deposit that Budget calls non-refundable.  I told him not to put my things on the truck, and that I want my deposit back.  The driver argued with me, again stating that he didn't have to look at my inventory list.  He fiinally agreed to pay me my deposit back, and put it in writing, but after he left, I called the trucking company, and they said that I had to go to Budget Van Lines for a refund.  I told the salesman I was going to report the situation.

I tried to call Budget Van Lines, and they were not answering the phones,  I left a message and they never called me back.  In the meantime, a lady from the trucking company called me and  starting yelling at me over the phone, stating that she would sue me for everything I had if I reported this to anyone.  I asked her what her last name is, and she stated that it didn't matter, and kept yelling at me.  I had to hang up on her.  I tried to call Budget again, and they still weren't answering the phones, and have not called me back from my message.

I was totally unsuspecting about this scamming company, as the salesman sounded like a professional, and I feel I was "roped in."  They kept my $606 deposit, and have not attempted to resolve anything.  Now I have to move myself, short my $606 I was planning on using to move with.
