Carol Wright Gifts False Advertising? Ripoff Edison New Jersey

I have ordered from this company multiple times over the internet and have never had a problem. This last time, one of the items I wanted to order was not on the webpage so I had to call it in. I ordered 4 items and I was told that one of them might not be available as they only had 3 left.

A few days later I was checking on something else online on my credit card and noticed a charge had already been posted for this order and realized that apparently the 1 item was not available as the amount was lower than it would have been for the 4 items.

When I received delivery, the invoice for the 3 items was more than it would have been for all 4 so I went back and checked my credit card account again and it now agreed with this invoice.

When I called about the error and asked to speak to a manager, (which I don't believe I spoke to), I was told that the prices for items ordered over the telephone were always higher than catalog or online prices. I have searched the catalogs and online and do not see anything that refers to this. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to how they figure the additional costs either. Of the 3 items, 1 was $1.00 more, 1 was the advertised price and 1 was completely double the advertised price. Wouldn't this be considered false advertising?

Frankly, I don't believe this is company policy. I think this is a rip-off employee who has figured out a way to make extra money for answering the telephone which is why I had asked to speak to a manager.

I would love to know of others who have also been caught up in this swindle.
