I've used Checks Unlimited for years and don't remember any problems before.  This year I re-ordered my personal checks online just as I have in the past.  There's lots of add-on offers I had to decline (over and over again) but finally got through to the order page and was able to choose my shipping option.  I was then given my grand total, typed in my credit card number, asked to review and approve my order, which looked fine.  I agreed to the total fee and clicked "order".  My confirmation page popped up and there was a HANDLING FEE added of $11.00 !!  I couldn't believe they could just add a fee after I approved the total price!  A handling fee was never disclosed in the entire order process.

Then I started looking up complaints and reviews and saw all the red flags. UGH! That's when I realized I was getting far fewer checks per box than I had in previous years.  Really look at how many checks you are receiving for the price and comparison shop.

I received a confirmation email and immediately responded that I wanted to cancel the order.  A reply came back that orders cannot be edited by email and I must call during business hours.  I called them first thing this morning and said I wanted my order completely canceled.  The rep "Cassie" said it was too late (I ordered online 12 hours before) but she would send an email "requesting a refund".  I insisted I did not want the checks printed at all, she said that the cancel order will "probably go through and I won't be charged if the cancel is accepted".  WHAT?!  I knew this meant that the order was going to go through and I was going to be charged! I asked for a manager or supervisor.  Spoke with "Tracy" who said the best she could do was send an email to the production department asking for the order to be canceled.  It would probably take several hours but I was welcome to call back (and sit on hold for another 20 minutes) to confirm the order was canceled.
