CIC Credit Monitoring Ripoff! has billed me 9.95 since Sept. 04! I did not know what it was for! Internet

I was looking to check my credit today because we are going to buy some property, and I wanted to make sure everthing was ok. When I searched for a credit report service, I saw the ripoff alerts on CIC...which reminded of charges I have been seeing on my bank statement each month. I had assumed the charges were for something I had signed up for or bought a while back but I could not remember what.

Then I remembered a free credit check I had gotten last year. It turns out that I have been billed since September 2004...without my consent, for a service I did not know I had nor wanted. I am going to contact CIC today about the situation...but I doubt they will refund the full amount they have charged. Almost $70.00 that I have paid, for NOTHING!!!

I think that they should not be able to do charge people without telling them....free should be free, not 9.95 a month until the person catches on to who and what CIC is doing to them!
