Compu-Electronics Sales ripoff artist Eastlake, Ohio

*UPDATE Employee: Customer tried to avoid terms and conditions. This isn't Walmart!!
I went to a Blue Star event over the weekend and i purchased a laptop computer from Compu-Electronics and I tried to return it the next day. They would not give me my money back and they wanted to charge me a restocking fee of 45% which i felt that I should not have to pay as they were going to resale that computer to someone else at the show. I went to our local tv station to tell them what they did to me and it was broadcast. I hope that we can stop this company from ripping off any more people.

I have been trying to get in touch with this company and their fax # 440-946-2890 does not work. They are so quick to help but they won't even answer their phone or turn their fax on so someone can get in touch with them.

Dear Customer,
In response to your complaint/report, nothing was hidden from you or the sale when you purchased the laptop computer. I mean come on, this isn't Walmart were you can possibly get away with buying something and returning it without a restocking fee!!! The laptops and computers that we sell at the liquidation sales are very prominent and free from disguises. What you see on display is usually what you get unless you buy a brand new laptop in the box. Our terms and conditions with the sale is the same which is written in black and white on your receipt. No one hid anything from you so, f you bought a laptop from us and decided the next day that you just didn't want it, the sales terms are written on your receipt regarding the policy. Most stores that sell Electronics / Computers have this type of policy setup (Restocking Fee) to protect themselves from customer's that choose to: #1. buy a product/use it/then return it, or #2. buy a product/find a lower price/then return it. The problem with #2. is that we have already provided services setup on your laptop which were part of the sale agreement (Such as expenses with corporate license installs). This expense poses a problem due to personalization of the laptop or computer NOT to be resold to another customer. So, as you can see NO ONE is ripping you off, and if you would have showed the alleged TV station your receipt when they broadcasted this issue, they probably would have not gave this any consideration. We would have worked with you regarding this situation very easily. We have customer's that have questions and situations everyday due to support issues. We would have at least been able to drop you down to 30% or even possibly lower had we received some information from you via (fax, phone, or email). In closing, please always refer to the receipt information for support.
Thanks,
Compu Electronics
