eBay charged me for something called Direct Pay. I never signed up for it, and since I was not expecting the charge, and the charge was charged to the wrong checking account, it caused me to overdraft.
I don't keep any money in my free checking account, because once I have my pay deposited on Fridays, I either withdraw it, move it to my savings account, or a combination of the two. I did something stupid, though, and moved over $7.00 immediately, hoping that my bank didn't catch it, and ultimately avoid the hassle.
But my bank did catch it, so then I had an overdraft fee. Instead of six dollars and something, it was $36 or so, and now I had to actually dispute it, because that is like a tank of gas that I would just throw away if I let it go. I didn't have time to get there right away either, because I am busy, so there was then 5 day extended overdraft fees. I finally got the chance to go to my bank, and I told them that I had an unauthorized charge, and they said okay, and I did the dispute process and signed the papers. My bank dropped the fees, but later I found out that what ebay charged appeared legitimate, and it is too much of a hassle to dispute a dispute, so I cannot do anything, and I lose the six dollars or so.
Then ebay contacts me saying that my account is in default! They said I did not pay them, but my bank statement shows I did! Then they charged me another $15.00 for a bounced payment! So now they want to take another 20 some dollars from me, for something I never subscribed to! Plus, I haven't even bought or sold anything on eBay in more than two months! I don't know about you, but I don't want to be charged by eBay unless I buy or sell something.
So after desperately attempting to contact eBay customer service through email, and my question is not even an option, so I just picked one. Then they get back to me telling me stuff like I can't return someone's item because it is a final sale. But that wasn't even my question!
On top of all this, I can not even find where to cancel this Direct Pay crap that they are illegitimately charging me!
Now I am stuck and can't do anything, and eBay suspended my account even though I have been a valuable eBay customer. You know what, I still do not even knwo what Direct Pay is!
