We had decided to go with enterprise relocation due to it supposedly being a reputable moving company. We were moving from Morgantown, Wv to North Carolina due to new jobs. After talking with the representative we set up for them to pick up the furniture on the friday before my fiance started work since we were told that it should take 3-5 days for the furniture to arrive. This would put the delivery between Mon and Wed of the next week. I took vacation from work in order to be there when the movers arrived. When the guy came to pick up our furniture and other various items, he had brought a truck that was the size of a uhaul. Not big enough for the items we had and had given them on the inventory list. He told us that it was our fault and that not all the items were on the list that he had. There may have been 2-3 items that were not on there for some reason, maybe miscommunication, but we also had items that were on the list that we decided not to take with us. The gentleman also came alone when there were supposed to me 2 people to move the items. Was very upset by this since we hired the company so we did not have to move all of the furniture since some of the pieces are rather large and heavy. He loaded all of the boxes in first, and they must not have been loaded properly since the next thing i know I hear a bang and a stack of the bins he placed fell and my items went everywhere. Instead of apologizing, he again blamed me for the lids not being on properly however they were plastic bins that had snapping lids. There was one box that the lid did not fit correctly, but I had it taped down so there would not be a problem, but the other boxes were perfectly sealed. He then went to load the furniture, but when he got to the bigger stuff he had to ask my fiance to help him with it. Is this not what we paid the company to do??? He helped him in order for our items to be taken. After loading all the items he could, not everything we had, he told us he could send another truck out but it would be cheaper to get a uhaul. After thinking about it and the horrible experience we had so far we decided to just go ahead and rent a uhaul for an additional charge on us since this was really our only option. He then told us we needed to pay him $1600 for him to take the items. We questioned this since the quote we were given was around $1200 and we already paid a large deposit and this amount was only considered half of what we would owe when it was delivered. I paid him in order to just get the process moving so we could get on the road as well to get to NC. Noticed after getting into the car to leave that on the inventory list he had every piece of my furniture as being either scratched, chipped, torn, soiled, ect. I know for a fact that most of the furniture we had was just bought in the last year and had been well taken care of. I decided to ten call about my experience. When I called and finally got a hold of someone, I ended up talking with the mover who moved me. What are the odds? I told him that I was unhappy so far with the service and he didn't understand why. Told him about the inventory list and how I knew the tv stand was free of any scratches or damage and he told me that my fiance had told him we only paid 5 bucks for it and knew it was scratched. I let him know that the item in fact cost over $600 and had a marble top on it and not sure what he meant. Found out he was talking about the night stand we had, which we knew had scratches and what not but how does anyone get a tv stand and night stand mixed up??? I then had to ask many times to get a number for someone higher up since I was not getting anywhere with talking with him. He finally gave me a number and I called and left a message for his supervisor. I received a call back from him and explained the situation and why we were unhappy so far. He said he would talk with his management and give me a call back. I waited two days and no call. Called him back now the friday of the next week, mind you still no furniture. He called back and said they were working on figuring out what they could do for me. Giving me a monetary value for the labor we supplied. Also stated he did not want to get into a he said she said on the condition of my furniture, and said you would be able to tell if there were any recent scratches since they would be fresher. I agreed and said that was fine and would take pictures if need be, but was hoping that it would not be an issue. I then asked where the furniture was since it should have arrived that wed before. He ended up calling me back that night and said it was close and we would receive it within 72 hrs. So I extended my vacation to the monday that would be the 3 days. I waited around and finally got a call on Sun that the furniture would now be here Tues. I was rather upset and asked if there was any way they could make it Mon since that is what I was told and what I had taken off work for. He said he would make some calls and get back to us with an answer. He never did call us back or answer/return any calls we made trying to figure out what was going on. My fiance decided to just take a day off work on that tuesday in order to receive our items. He called multiple times and finally got an answer. Supposedly the furniture was on a truck that was broke down in Washington, DC. Sorry but I really dont believe that at all. After many phone calls the driver let us know he would be there between 8:30-9pm to deliver our items. At 9:30 we called the driver yet again and said he was still a half hr out but was not going to come. I insisted that we could not take off any more time from work and that he make it to the house. Said the trucks had no lights, so I offered ways to get light to see to deliver my items and the driver hung up on me. It is now the next day and not one person will answer or return our phone calls about where our furniture is and when they can make it to deliver the items. This place is the worst company to deal with. All I want is my furniture and answers as to why all the bs and trouble. Along with already paying over $2k and nothing to show for it. I could have rented a uhaul for cheaper and had less troubles and had my furniture right away. lessons learned...
