I rented a car from Enterprise for the first time this past weekend. The counter representative said funds will automatically go back on my card as soon as the car is returned and nothing is wrong.  APPARENTLY NOT!!

I returned the car in pristine condition and without incident.  I look at my account and the $433 hold STILL there.    A rep with AEB stated that they hold the funds “just in case something is wrong with the car.” Well there’s nothing wrong with the car.  My card should only have a charge of $164 and NOT $433..

I guarantee someone is driving the rental that I turned in and yet I can’t receive my funds for what they’re now saying is another 7-10 days!!  Does this make any sense?  What are they doing with these funds for all these days??

There’s no reason for this other than they want to make money off of MY money.  Like someone else said “this appears to be a scheme of using cardholders money interest free on a nationwide scale.

Max from Enterprise claims the authorization for the final $164 was initiated and the remainder should be released.  Jessie or Jennie from AEB said they are not seeing the authorization for $164.  Who knows who is telling the truth? All I know is that I am the one left dangling in the wind.  She also stated that this type of ‘hold’ is an specific agreement between Enterprise and American Express Bluebird.

IF these funds were in fact released the same day the car was returned there is absolutely NO REASON why they aren’t back on my card.

Again, NONE of these supervisors an provide an explanation as to why I can’t receive my money.  Needless to say, I will be seeking other types of rental car services and dumping Bluebird card.

These types of practices need to be reported AND THEY WILL!!
