I "attempted" to cancel my internet service today as I had cable installed. I've had this service for two and a half years, as I live in a rural area and had no choice except "Exede/Wild Blue" as my carrier until recently when cable was installed in my area.
For 2+ years I've put up with this company, constantly "worried" or stressed they would shut off service (which they did every month) if I exceeded their monthly allowance of bandwidth, which was usually about 4 days after paying the bill, which, by the way, was deducted directly out of my checking account---they wanted to sell more bandwitdth which I would so I put up with the interupted and slow service each month. By the way, they charged 49.99 per month for approximately 1 gb of bandwidth.
Cable recently came into my area and I subscribed, and it was installed today. Upon calling Exede/Wild Blue to cancel my service this evening, I inquired about the 49.99 "prepayment" that was deducted on November 25th... I was abrubtly told, I would not receive any refund as it is not the policy of the company to refund any prepaid accounts.
I feel this is unjust and is a consumer rip-off....pay for something in advance and don't receive... consumers beware!
