April 29, 2007, I purchased a 2000 VW Passat from a small local dealer in Springdale, AR. I was told at the time of purchase that I HAD to buy an extended warranty for the car - for an additional $1,200!

The car turned out to be a piece of SH--. I began to have electrical problems immediately. The dealer worked with me to get these ironed out, but it was ongoing with no resolution. The only places in the entire area that work on VW's are one little, one bay shop and the VW Dealer. The dealer is an absolute nightmare. They had my car for an entire MONTH and never figured out what the problem was! Because they never figured out the problem, no loaner car was provided. I was literally walking for an entire month!

About two months ago, the entire engine blew, on the highway, in the rain! I had to be towed. The long and short of it is that supposedly the "tensioner" broke, which broke several other major things. The warranty rep claims that the tensioner is not covered, which it should be. Even if it is not, they are using this to deny all the other parts that are covered and that they SHOULD pay for. The bill to repair the car (not even addressing the ongoing electrical weirdnesses) was nearly $10,000. I did not even pay that much for the car.

I have tried to work with the warranty company and their rep. The dealer where I purchased the car has tried, the mechanic working on the car has tried. The warranty rep was totally unprofessional, rude, very uncooperative and generally an A-Hole! He told the mechanic (before even seeing any kind of paperwork or inspecting the vehicle) that he was going to deny the claim.

The car was sufficiently torn down by the mechanic to make a correct diagnosis. However, the warranty guy wanted another FIVE hours of tear down before he would even come and look at it. That was another $350.00 out of my pocket for a car that they had already said they would never pay on. I can't continue to pay for a "doorstop" that will never run again. The mechanic agreed that this was ridiculous.

After some investigating, I find that this is their standard mode of operation/denying cooperation with the poor people who have gotten stuck with their warranties. They just do everything possible to jerk people around and never pay their claims.

These people took over for a company called WARRANTY GOLD, which was apparently funded out of the Cayman Islands. Warranty Gold went broke and stiffed all their clients. Now these jokers and trying to stiff people in the same way.

If you look under the Better Business Bureau, you will find that First Automotive Service Corporation has a D Rating - meaning do not deal with these people.

I tried to deal with them and got nowhere, so I am forced to SUE! Never deal with these thieves! I could go on and on about everything that happened and all the ways I was "had" by these folks, but you get the idea.

They are bad news. Never do business with them!

First Automotive Service Corporation Consumer Rebuttal to their lies Albuquerque New Mexico

This is my rebuttal to the answer published by First Automotive Service Corporation. As usual, they continue to lie their butts off!

They state in their answer that the repair shot never got my authorization for a tear down to determine the cause of failure and estimate the repairs. That is a LIE. They tore the car down, diagnosed it and sent in the estimate. I saw it and have a copy myself.

They state that they set up an inspection on April 1, 2008. I was never notified of this. The car was there and torn down. The rep? refused to cooperate. They finally had me remove the car because they could get no cooperation from the company.

They claim that the mechanic does not want to work on the car because I was unpleasant. That is a LIE. The mechanic does not want to work with them because their rep is so TERRIBLE. I have never had a problem with the mechanic.

In a letter to me, First Automotive claims to have "no idea" who Mike Allen, the warranty rep, is! He is not an employee of theirs. That's very interesting. He works for a company called MSE Distributing, who sells these warranties. They claim that he had no right to interefere with the processing of this claim. That is not his duty and he has no authority. That's very interesting, too. He represents himself as their rep, claiming authority which he does not have, but they are taking no action against him? Come on. They are all in cahoots to deny claims.

If Mike Allen is not authorized to act as their rep, they should take action against him!!!

No way am I going to tow this car again. I never got repaid for the last time by the warranty company. The mechanic never got paid by them for the work he did. Now they want me to take it to another mechanic and start all over again, on my nickel! That's about another $500 in tear down and towing. They have already said they will never pay this claim (according to Mike Allen, who "has no authority".) What the hell is this!

I have a lawyer and will fight this til the bitter end. I bought this damned warranty exactly to guard against this type of thing. These people are totally dishonest. They take your money and give nothing but grief in return.

To First Automotive. Wake up and smell the coffee. You won't get away with this, as long as there is a breath in my body. I won't let you screw me over like this.

Watch out for these scoundrels.
