The door locks on my 2006 Honda Odyssey were locking when the vehicle was running after shutting the door.  This is obviously not correct operating procedure.  In addition the passenger sliding door was not closing.  The dealer found both problems and called First Automotive to get the approval to fix the problems.

First Automotive required that all maintenance records be sent to them.  The dealer sent all the information through 1/2009.  After that we were doing our oil changes ourselves to save money.  We sent a fax with the dates and mileages.  First Automotive denied the claim indicating the verbage on the front of the contract that states you must have maintained the vehilcle to manufacturers standards.  All receipts, mileage and dates must be kept.  Well of course after we started doing the oil changes ourselves we do not have the receipts.  We do not buy each time we service we buy in cases and a couple filters at a time.  This is a rip-off scheme.

The failures indicated above do not have anything to do with the maintenance that has been done and can be verified for the first 3 1/2 years.  This is an outright theft of money.  I paid 2200 for comprehensive 6 years 100,000 extended warranty and the cost of the parts are approximately 675.  This company should not be allowed to defraud people this way.

Do not every buy an extended warranty contract.  I have had three - the first company went bankrupt, the second did not honor the refund if you never filed a claim and now this one that is playing the you cannot prove you have maintained your vehicle so we will not honor the contract.  I made sure my dealer was aware how bad I thought this company was and they have stated they are not doing business with them anymore.  They are a horrible company.  Things are tough enough right now without honest people being ripped-off by deceitful companies.
