First Data SunTrust Bank merchant services Will not honor written contract!!!!!!!!!!! atlanta, Georgia Internet

I have never seen a company this bad.  Signed up for credit card processing in May of 2007.  I fullfilled the 3 year contract, switched to another service in June of 2009 and called First Data to cancel the account.

I just discovered, after getting a new accountant, that First Data did not cancel the account and was still charging me!!!!

I called their customer service department which is a joke about this and of course they tell me there is no record of me calling to cancel.

I have a written contract that was negotiated due to the business being a non profit which CLEARLY states there is no charge for the monthly account fee and that the $25.00 monthly minimum fee is waived down to 0. I am being charged both of these fees.

The lady says there is no notes that these fees are to be waived. I told her that I have the original signed contract that states this and she said it did not matter since I could have changed it myself.

If you currently accept credit cards in your business and you are with SunTrust and First Data you should look at your monthly statement very closely.  If you are out of contract run like hell to another processor as fast as you can.  If you are looking for a processor for a new business stay away from First Data.  They will raise all of your rates and will not honor the contract although they will force you to honor it or charge you $500.00 to cancel.  What a bunch of crooks!!
