We contacted Foreclosure Law Center after our mortgage company wouldn't work with us to do a loan modification on our home. Sheena Gordan and Ms. S Johnson were all willing to help us, telling us that they were in contact with Chase. I even had a couple hour long conversations with Sheena, about what was going on, our financial situation and so forth. As our Sheriff's Sale on our home got closer we kept in constant contact, doing everything in a timely manner for them to get the modification done. A couple days before the sale they called my husband and said that Chase had denied the loan modification because it was too close to the sale date and suggested to him to file for bankruptcy. My husband was over 1800 miles from home and that was impossible to do and it wasn't something we thought was a good idea. After the Sheriff's Sale we tried to contact them and see when things were submitted, and what went wrong. That was in August and I am still waiting to hear anything back from them, and its now January.

Just money in the bank
AUTHOR: Charlene - ()

Think of what The Foreclosure Law Center stole from you as money in the bank. If they think we will accept what they have done to us, they are wrong! Several of us are getting together to compare notes, gather documents, share experiences and file greivances with every entity that oversees attorney compliance and behavior. They ( FLC) claims to be affiliated with approximately 28 other attorneys on their website. In fact, FLC ( Drew Alia) cannot legally work with out of state clients. It seems to me that about 28 attorney's can be sued for allowing their name to be used when they provide no real legal assistance for out of state clients. Here's what I do know. When they messed with several of us, they messed with the wrong people. We'll have our day in court!

Thugs, Thieves and Liars

It's difficult to imagine that people like this continue to operate. I too, am one of their victims. Sure, they tell you everything you want to hear in the beginning. They said that they would act as my attorney of record in negotiating a loan modification for me. After you sign on the dotted line, everything changes. If you are considering using these people for any kind of loan modification assistance, don't do it. My lender was never contacted by these people. Since I am in Texas, FLC really cannot legally represent me if they are not licesened in the state. But, hey what the heck, they accepted my money anyway. They will get their comeupance...as I am filing a report with every enitity that governs attorney's compliance with the law.

It's true. I had almost the same experience with Drew Alia, Alan Zaslow, Naomi Catchings and Louis Chait. They cannot do what they are doing legally. So please file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the PA state bar.Check out more about the MARS Rule on the FTC website. Here is some, in part, of that rule:
In addition, the rule bars mortgage relief companies from telling consumers to stop communicating with their lenders or servicers. Companies also must have reliable evidence to back up any claims they make about the benefits, performance, or effectiveness of the services they provide.
Attorney exemption
Attorneys are generally exempt from the rule if they meet three conditions: they are engaged in the practice of law, they are licensed in the state where the consumer or the dwelling is located, and they are complying with state laws and regulations governing attorney conduct related to the rule. To be exempt from the advance fee ban, attorneys must meet a fourth requirement – they must place any fees they collect in a client trust account and abide by state laws and regulations covering such accounts.
All provisions of the rule except the advance-fee ban will become effective December 29, 2010. The advance-fee ban provisions will become effective January 31, 2011.
The FTC rulemaking proceeding was conducted pursuant to Congressional legislation sponsored in 2009 by Senators Jay Rockefeller and Byron Dorgan. The Final Rule applies only to entities within the FTC’s jurisdiction under the Federal Trade Commission Act, which excludes, among others, banks, savings and loans, federal credit unions, common carriers, and entities engaged in the business of insurance. In June 2009, the FTC issued an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comment on the practices of for-profit mortgage relief companies. In February 2010, the FTC announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and sought comments from interested persons, including advocates for consumers, the business community, and the legal profession.

They also ripped me off. I have filed a complaint against them with HUD and Making Homes Affordable, the FTC and Pennsylvania Bar Association ( The Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ). There is power in numbers. I suggest you do the same. Make our voices heard.

You may contact me at doglover4jbbi@gmail.com FLC messed with me and I'm filing an action against them in court. I have a good lawyer who is helping me with it and also with the BK that I had to file because FLC screwed me over. I have evidence that they are not a legit company and they used threats and intimidation against me. The owner and lawyer of the company, Drew Alia, is an idiot. He's a terrible lawyer who has admitted as much to my lawyer. Mr. Alia and his little employees Sheena and Justin haven't heard the last from me. They were given the opportunity to refund my money and they refused. Then, when I posted something in this FREEDOM OF SPEECH forum, he decided to threaten me by letter and voicemail. Wrong move. E mail me at the above address and let me know what happened to you. I'm using the other ripoff report in this forum as evidence against him. He seems to have a reoccuring problem with making promises he can't keep and taking people's money and then playing stupid, which actually isn't very hard for him to do.

OK, let's work on a way for us to exchange e mails or phone numbers without posting that info. on RipOff. I know I want to keep my info. private as I'm sure you do. Let me talk to my lawyer or someone at Ripoff to see how we accomplish that. It sounds like you have it much worse than I did. But I agree, that doesn't may it right....what FLC did to either of us. They are out to make money. In my case, I never spoke to a lawyer at the firm. I spoke to someone that I thought was a lawyer, but mostly the paralegal Sheena. When I did hear from a Drew Alia at FLC it was only after I demanded my money back. Then he tried to send me something certified in the mail, which I refused to accept, he tried to bully me by sending a rebuttal through RipOff and then actually had the nerve to call and leave a message threatening me. Honestly threatening me! Threatening one minute and laughing and me the next. I also have e mails from Sheena calling me crazy, what more did I want them to do....OK, how about returning a phone call or e mail to start with. That would have been nice. The fact is they got my money and after that happened they wanted nothing more to do with me. My belief is that FLC never contacted my mortgage co., their lawyer or anyone else. They ran with my money. My new lawyer has all this info and is handling everything. We have the recording of the voice mail, etc. Did you know that FLC was sued by the state of CT and FLC lost? There are many instances of misconduct listed just do a google search of the lawyers name, FLC and things will come up. I will stay posted to RipOff to try to make contact with you in a private way. FLC will pay for what they've done. They can't be allowed to do this to anyone else.

I would love to get in contact with you and compare stories. I know that Chase is shady, I just wanted to know what they did and when, but after all of this I am so mad at FLC. They were the last straw to us loosing our home. We put our trust in them, when we were are most vulnerable, which might have been our fault but, it doesn't make what they did right! We paid a lot of money to them, that could have been put towards negotiating with Chase or getting a lawyer that would have done their job!

Dear MN.....you and I could have written the same complaint. The exact thing happened to us with FLC. The same conversations with Sheena, etc. Now I'm more ticked off then before. We are currently working with someone who is ethical, responsible and a good lawyer. We are working behind the scenes with our lawyer to make sure the FLC doesn't do this to anyone else. I would be very interested in hearing your story. FLC may try to contact you through mail or through this website...they use fear and intimidatation to get to you. DO NOT BACK DOWN! I honestly would love to be in contact with you to share our story which are very similiar. There is power in numbers and Drew Alia and his FLC will not be permitted to treat people this way. I have additional info. to share with you and would love to hear from you to see if we can help each other.
