Garmin Display on Vivosmart too large to read. Call to Garmin ended with a "discovery" of a virus on my computer they could fix or $250-$350 and no, cold not fix the fitness tracker display. Internet

Garmin Vivosmart fitness tracker after about 1 year developed a display font that made it too difficult to read. 

Called Garmin to see about fixing it and had to go online so they could connect to it.  The tech discovered something wrong with my computer and had to send me to someone else, afer about 40 minutes on the phone and online.  The second person ran some program on my laptop that showed me local IP addresses that were supposed to be my devices nd then a list of Foreign IP addresses.  He asked if I did any banking or made purchases online.  If I did I needed to stop right now because all those foreign IP addresses were looking at my banking and credit information.  He told me I needed to have it fixed by a Cisco certificed network professional, not by the geek squad, etc. but that he could run  diagnostics on it and tell them what the problems were and this Cisco group could fix it.  It would be $250-$350 and I'd need to send them a check after it was fixed.  He could not fix the Vivosmart without this first.  I ended the call and closed out of all windows on my computer and shut it down, hopefully, no problems.  I will check it daily.  I think this was just a scam to 1) gain access to my computer and/or 2) to get additional money from me.
