GE Money Bank - Care Credit Dentist office ripoff CareCredit poster promised no interest if paid on tme monthly We paid by automatic payment by bank never late Orlando Florida

CareCredit had a poster in our dentists office stating that we could pay dental bill by an advance from them, and that our account would not incur interest unless we failed to pay on time. We set up our account to be paid automatically by bank, hence no lates.

We just received a statement, dated 8/22/2007, which shocked us with the, brand new, inclusion of a finance charge of $1027.25. The previous statement, for July, stated "Minimum *Finance Charge* Purchases . . . $1.50"

My wife immediately called the 866 # and was referred to the smallest print paragraph on the statement, "You will incur no Finance Charges on a Deferred Interest promotional purchase provided that the promotional purchase amount is paid in full by the Indicated Promotional Expiration Date, etc.

No such expiration date was ever mentioned, and a no notice/reminder was ever given. An indication, needing interpretation, was pointed out by phone answerer, in a location, and of such a small print, as to have been totally "hidden". This critical info was nowhere in the "Account Information" panel, which is where most reasonable people would expect to find such. We have
paid the Previous Balance, in full, and dispute the spurious interest charge.
