Hewlett-Packard Rebate ripoff Mesa Arizona

Purchased HP DVD630i DVD writer at Walmart. Did the 30.00 rebate submission online. Sent in the 30.00 rebate required forms to HP rebate center. Just received a letter from HP that my submission did not include the serial bar code label. I know I did so I called the phone number listed. They told me I had purchased a model DVD630vi and not a DVD630i.

I told them it says DVD630i in six places on the box. Nowhere does it say DVD630vi. I talked to a supervisor ans she said that drives sold at Walmart are not the same as other retailers.

I said what do you mean. She said that Walmart sells items that may not be what is on the box.

Sure enough she must be right. The box clearly says DVD630i but the serial number that the rebate center used off the box is for a DVD630vi.Hp doesn't even sell a 630vi so whats up.


Is Walmart making big companies sell items that are made just for them but sold in the same box sold to ther retailers? Can't even return it to Walmart because the rebate center won't return my UPC label.
