Purchased a new phone through Buy.com/InPhonic. Total rebate amount = $300.

Had to wait 180 to 210 before I could ship out the rebate claim, copy of the sales receipt, copy of the UPC, copy of a wireless bill, copy of "Guide to Wireless Services". I am very organized and had all documents prepared since I received my phone. I sent both rebates 193 days after activation and spent the next few weeks looking for info on rebate-zone.com/wireless but did not see any. Waited and waited (allowing 14-16 business days) and then emailed customer support to see what the hold-up was. Received a reply a few days later saying to check out the above Website that provided no other info. Called my contact today at InPhonic who I last talked to in January and was informed that they never received either of the letters. I find this interesting as I have never heard of a credit card company loosing a bill! This is $300 folks do you really think I would sit on that amount of money. Give me a freaking break. The Rep that I spoke with said I am now passed the 210 day period and she has to go to the finance department to see if they can extend my time. I ask, for what, for me to sent my rebates again only to have them loose them. I expect to receive a successful resolution to this experience so if an InPhonic rep is reading this, please contact me to resolve.

Thanks

Aleks

STILL NO CHECK

AUTHOR: Aleks - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 31, 2006

Please do not be fooled, no check has been sent. Contrary to what was stated by InPhonic on 3/16/2006, no check was ever issued on 3/7.

In a response from Inphonic on 3/17 I was told that the check was issued that day and to expect it in about 1 week. Well, 2 weeks later and still NO check.

All outstanding issues still remain and the frustration keeps on building.

Still Waiting for Check

AUTHOR: Aleks - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 16, 2006

I have been working with Doreen to resolve this rebate issue and I find her to be extremely pleasant to deal with. However, I still have yet to receive the check and it has been 1 month since it was re-issued.

As for the carrier not paying InPhonic, this is the first I have heard of this.

Check has been issued

AUTHOR: Doreen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 16, 2006

I'm happy to provide an update on this customer's rebates. After checking his application and finding it in order, we authorized a check for $300 (despite the fact that the carrier decision not to pay us will not be reversed).

The check was mailed Feb 7. The customer contacted me again to let us know we sent it to an incorrect (old) address. We promptly put a "stop payment" on the check and reissued a new one.

I believe this has resolved any outstanding issues with Aleks D.

Customer Service catching up with order volume

AUTHOR: Doreen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, January 16, 2006

Hi Aleks,

I know it's been a couple of months since you sent in your forms and I truly apologize for any and all perceived hassles.

According to the posting guidelines on this site, your name and city should be enough for me look up your order and figure out what's going on so I can submit a rebuttal, but since we process tens of thousands of orders a day, our system won't let me do that.

But if you send me an email with your order number, I'll look into your case and expedite the process to get you the rebates. My personal email address is below.

regards,
Doreen Dennis

p.s. Here's some info the company posted about rebates. It explains some of our recent growing pains.

NEVER AGAIN

AUTHOR: Aleks - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 27, 2005

So I thought I made some progress a few months ago and this was a big mistake. I still have not received any rebates but have certainly improved my ability to understand what the folks in India are saying to me over the phone.

Will no longer spend my money on BUY.com or any of their partners.

So much for progress

So I was wrong. According to Inphonic, one rebate was not completely filled out and the other is not eligible because I ported my old number. Looks like I am in it for the long haul.

A few hours + many phone numbers dialed = PROGRESS

AUTHOR: Aleks - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 15, 2005

Was able to get through to someone who knew what was going on with my rebates. Funny thing is she was not an InPhonic employee but worked for a company that partnered with InPhonic to fulfill rebates. Bottom line is seems that some, if not all InPhonic rebates sent to White Bear Lake, MN are being transferred to Niagara Falls, NY).

1) Stared by calling InPhonic this morning (Sept 15) and the Rep I talked to had no record of ever receiving my rebates and said she would contact the Finance Dept.
2) Sent another email to customerinquiry@inphonic.com asking for help
3) Called (866) 800-4303 (not InPhonic but a partner of InPhonic) which was given to me when I first emailed the above address. This time instead of pressing option #2 for White Bear Lake which had no record of my 2 rebates, I called again and pressed option #1 for Niagara Falls, NY. After entering my last name and zip code at the prompts, a electronic voice told me that there was 1 record on file. AH HA!
4) Called (866) 800-4303 again and got in-touch with a CSR who told me that they did receive 1 of the 2 rebates and that the one was processed on Aug 30. She then instructed me to fax all rebate #2 documents and told me to call back in 10 business days to check the status. I feel very comfortable after speaking to this woman that everything will be taken care of.

It would be a great business move for InPhonic to know what is going on with their rebates since their name is on the line.
