I signed up to find a person, known to me and known to have a criminal record.  Got old information and no legal or criminal activity found.  So I looked up another person, whom I knew, and known to have a criminal record.  Address given was very old, probably a minimum of ten years.  Again,  no criminal activity.

This was going to be a continuing charge to my credit card with a telephone number to call and unsubscribe.  However, they were extremely difficult to find on the internet again, and then no answer to phone call.  I  am not sure how to discontinue service and am worried about my credit information.

This is a definite scam and I hope other people will not be duped as I was.

How to Cancel Instant Checkmate

AUTHOR: Bonnielw - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 15, 2013

I was also ripped of by this fraudulent company.  I called the number to cancel and was told that they would refund my credit card charge and send me a confirming e-mail.  Call this number to get a refund.

1-866-490-5980  You will have to wait a long time on the phone, but just do it.  I was surprised that they didn't argue with me.  I think they are used to people calling up very disgruntled and just process the cancellation and refund.  It hasn't been long enough yet to verify that they gave it back.

  • Step 1 -  CALL THIS NUMBER > 1-866-490-5980, (you are going to be on hold, just be patient)

  • Step 2 -  GIVE YOUR FIRST, NAME LAST NAME, AND EMAIL. (the customer service rep. will ask you for this because that's whats on the Instant Checkmate accounts.

  • Step 3 -  REQUEST TO CANCEL ( keep in mind there is a complete difference between cancellation and refund. If you want a refund be sure to TELL THE CSR. otherwise hold your peace.

  • Step 4 - YOUR ACCOUNT IS CANCELLED!
