Linkus Enterprises  Dish Network  Bakersfield, California

In the time i have been here, the company has violated more laws then i can even think of. To start off, the Owner Horacio Guzman came down to our office and tell us that the company is sinking and is at more of a loss then a gain. 2 weeks later our pay changes. 2 days after that hundreds of employees put in a 2 weeks notice. 1 week later, the pay changes again, more than 1/3 of the employees complain, and the other group stays quiet because they are afraid of being terminated for expression. On paper we get paid minimum wage $8.00 ph. on our checks, we get paid less than that. Most work over 40 hours per week, but they have a illeagle pay structure that says we must complete "X" amount of work for it to be counted as 40 hours, as the labor board told us to do so, then everything left over will be a "bonus"

I save every check and i can tell you right now, i have proof that they pay $0.17 ph o offset the pay and make it look legit. they cut so many corners to save a dollar, when we look at our check and say... ehhh what ever, because it is so complicated to explain. The "FSM" (Field Service Manager") Cant even explain what the deal is with this, so he says he would fix it, but i personally am owed pay from over 6 months and i keep being told it is coming. Very one gets paid different and their is many, if not most across the nation that are being paid UNDER the legal $8.00 a hour. I have all check stubs and paper work to reflect this, the labor board agrees and 2 labor attorneys also do as well.

the second thing here is responsibility and liability, we are held responsible and liable for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars of equipment if lost or stolen UNWILLINGLY. We must sign a sign off sheet un-willingly that expresses our understanding of our liability. Before we were able to return everything on a daily basis and clear our names daily, but now we are forced to carry equipment for extra stock, because if jobs drop in through out the day randomly and you are close to being finished or the boss just dosent like you, he will add more work, make you spend an extra 2 hours at a screwed up job that will pay you 3 points which is equivalent to $6, so that he can protect his shitty son who has all the pull and thinks he can get away from everything because his dad will do crap under the table to protect him from being fired. When a customer is scared to answer the door because the last tech (boss's son) treated then in their own home with no respect and is cursing and has a bigger mouth than a opera singer that needs a fist shoved trough it.... that a*****e should be banned from public jobs that require him working in someones home. (Any tech can vouch for this if they are out the Bakersfield office). My point here is that if kiss a*s or have been here for more than 3 years, the boss will make sure you are taken care of, if not and he dislikes you, he will never fire you... he will make your life a living hell so that you can quit, either by no work or very little, or work that is so far apart that you will end up spending more time and gas getting there then actual income. This is because Linkus will NOT fire you, because they will not pay unemployment.

Next topic here is unfair compensation. There are two types of techs, ones who drive and use company vehicles, and the ones who dont and use their OWN vehicle and tools, ladders etc. The problem here is the ones who use their own personal vehicles and put massive wear and tear, miles, gas, equipment load and customization to accommodate the equipment requirements that linkus requires, gets paid the same as a tech who has the truck with no expense on him covered. The techs with personal vehicles get $.30 per mile for replenishment. on a weekly basis i personally spend over $225 on average just to work, and on pay day i get back between $60-90 for that work week. I drive a V6 which is 80% of guys who drive their own vehicles. Another thing is that we get paid for performance, so if we work and use our personal cellphone to accompany the customer and beg them to give us great scores on a survey which is worded completely incorrectly and also a phone line connectivity report which dings us because the customer uses cellphones only...., we get dropped in pay. get this, if when you start off with the company you get paid above $2.00 per point with no certifications, once you get your first of 3 certs you go to work and if you do good (no one has gone up with in the first 6 months) you get a $0.10 raise, but if you do bad, you get a $0.25 drop!!!! so it would take you 2x as long to get back where you were THIS IS EVERY MONTH!!!! also if you are smart and get all certifications 1,2, and 3........ guess what you get NOTHING!! no raise, no congrats, not even a cert saying you completed it. This is crap for a group of guys and 1 girl who do back breaking work for more than 10 hours per day every day.

In short, this is by far the most crooked out company who does not give a rats a*s about the employees, techs, or customers. They only care about making a impression to Dish Network so that they can maximize their bonuses and pay the ones who make it happen are being dicked around with no respect or say in anything that happens. Their has been many law suites and i know up north their is a class action lawsuit happening right now, i would love to have one here in this office. I can get more than half the techs to sign a petition. Lawyers, reps, and any one who would love to represent us hard working honest workers bring down a multi million dollar company to its knees and make it our b***h.... please respond with your contact info... i will call you.

I have video, audio, documents, and witnesses to backup my claims.

I have spoken with at least 15 LinkUs employees and they are all getting cheated like you are. There are labor laws in this country that protect employees from wage theft. You just need to know where to look and who to contact.

If you want to do something about what is happening to you, there is a website for (((Redacted))). It is (((Redacted))) they can give you advice  and contact information on people that can help you out. You can get a contact for Visalia who has a contact in Bakersfield and other cities in California. They are helping people right now.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome! Linkus sets up office in primarily the valley area of california and oregon.


From its begining they have been there to prey upon out of work construction workers.

They are evil garbage.   If you look at a listing of their offices they are all in depressed central areas where unemployment is approching 20%

That is their gold mine to steal from the working man.   Quit and theres someone else.     with a truck tools in an emergency

As far as not taking Linkus jobs in baersfield?


You can work for any number of a million contractors from LA that install DISH

You can be a remote installer from companies as far away as ohio who will hire you with no experience Im serious 

Starting TODAY   theyll send you to the same jobs linkus is doing only dish will send you there first and then call them they hate them.

You can work directly for DISH as an installer and make at least twice what linkus is paying you   you only need to pass a test.   Its easier than the test you took in linkus.

the only thing stopping YOU from being your own dish network contractor is the insurance and the parts.

You know what?   Call a company right now at random from google.   Type in Dish NEtwork installer.   Tell them I work for LINKUS and I want to install dish in my neighborhood  
( call direct tv too do them both)


You will make 2 3 4 times what linkus pays you.    

I dont agree with the argument of well if they are thieves just go somewhere else.


f**k LINKUS FIRST.     SUE THEM stomp on them.    They are losing money because they are thieves and had to pay millions 

Stand up for the working man, for the american way of life and f**k them.

Anytime you work for a reseller, there is always going to be problems. I used to work for Dish Network directly at $19/hr, which is still bad wages for the type of work.

If I made 8/hr, I'd be gone within a couple weeks. Lucky, I live in a mecca of corporate offices, so it is easy to work directly for the corporations than an affilliate to weed out the problems. Getting into that field is the hard part, now that you have experience, you could work directly with the parent company, but that's out in Colorado. Starting pay is now around $20/hr
