I have to a agree with Larry "You get what you pay for" and round off your amount to $1200. I paid 800 just for my truck door to be painted because it was keyed. Do you know what goes in to the cost of painting. Heres a breakdown for you Buffing Pads $28-$40, Body filler $20, masking foam $55-$60, masking paper $80-$150, face mask or respirator & goggles $30-$60, wet &dry sandpaper $30-$60, sandpaper da $35-$130, snading back-up $15-$45, polishing compound $18-$70, tape $9-$40, dry guide $40, masking plastic $12-$50, sandpaper file $10-100, sand block $9-$50, paint clear coat or base color paint start $40 a quart the more you pay for the paint is usually better the quality. $40 will not get a special color paint like olive green or vanila or pearl etc. thats basic supplies for just a paint job beside sanders, compressor, and booth ventilationsystem and filter which range from $70 - $400 a filter, than the cost of electricity and labor is in there too. All this has it place in your price for a paint job and base on these prices that giving you only a color paint and clear coat 2 quart or each which takes more on bigger cars $679 w/o machine equipment cost labor, electricity, filter or taxes $679 is just the base cost of supplies to do a car on the cheapest route for a paint shop. so 1200-680= $520 for rest of cost. well that basically means the painter is not getting much for labor. So how good you think the job will be. I have a 2007 Silver dodge and to get the truck painted factory color would have been $6000 and $8000 for two tone so I went with the just the door to be repaired which was 800 and look s great cant even seen the blend which was worth it.
