We dealt with this company for several months.  We started having problems with their credit card processing machine.  The paper would not feed through the machine.  I sent it back for a replacement within 7 days but they still took $129.00 out of my account.  They sent a new machine and the paper fed through fine but it did not print.  The customer service was of No Help.  They treated me like I was the problem, not the machine.  I decided to close my account.  I tried calling their customer service line and I could never get through on the number provided on the statement.  I sat for about 20 minutes with dead silence on the phone hoping someone would eventually pick up.  I emailed customer service and explained that Id like someone to call me because I needed to close my account.  I got a response back from them saying there was no need to call and that the email would be sufficient to close the account.  They told me in the email to return the credit card terminal within 7 days or Id be charged for that.  Nowhere in this email did this guy say anything about them charging my account for anything other than the terminal if it was not returned in 7 days.  I logged onto my account at 5:30 the next morning only to find that this company had taken $700.00 from my account that was not authorized.  I called them and never got a call back from the guy who closed my account.  I then called the other number I had for them and again, no answer.  I tried another number and finally got to talk to an extremely rude lady who just didnt care.  She told me they would refund 25% of my money if I reopened my account with them.  She said that the reason they took the $700 was because I signed a contract with them and there was 28 months remaining on my lease.  MY LEASE???!!!  WHAT LEASE?????  Nowhere on my contract did I see any sort of information about a lease nor did it state that they would withdraw any money for terminating such lease.  As a matter of fact, many things on the contract were blacked out and my banker noticed that the lease section was blacked out and it said NOT APPLICABLE.  My banker also noticed that theres parts in this application that refer you to other sections that are not included.  They were obviously trying to hide something.  They basically tricked me into signing this lease with them by blacking out the important information.  Also notice on their website that they have the BBB logo at the bottom of the home page.  This link is supposed to be a clickable link and they did not add the link. They apparently know what their rating is with the BBB and choose not to have us check them out.  Just because the BBB logo is on their website dont let that lead you to believe that everything is ok because its not.  I did get my money back no thanks to the rude lady calling herself a supervisor.  I check my accounts online every morning when I go to work.  When I noticed this transaction on my account I tried calling Merchant One to resolve the issues and when that didnt work I called my bank immediately and my bank reversed it.  I had to close out my business checking to prevent them from removing any more money from my account.  Believe me, this was not an easy task and it took me 1 full day to fix this because it entailed a lot more than just closing the account.  If you run into this situation, there is a limited time where your bank can help you (I believe less than 24 hours).  Bring a copy of the paperwork that you signed with Merchant One.  Once the banker reviews it and sees all the inconsistencies in it they will not have a problem trying to help you.  Please investigate before sigining up with this company.  Read all of the reviews on,, and then google Merchant One to find any others.
