Took car in on 9/23/13 to have a broken muffler bracket install. Shop replaced item #8014 and charged $73.25. One year (9/08/2014) later the bracket failed. Back to Midas Mt. Pocono for a replacement, expecting a free replacement. Manager said the repair needed new bracket #36153, and that the shop had not replaced the bracket previously. For the new bracket installed, $113.41. THE BRACKETS ARE IDENTICAL - THE INTERCHANGE BOOK LISTS THE 8014 AND THE 36153 AS IDENTICAL FROM TWO DIFFERENCE MANUFACTURERS. Would my husband have gotten a different result. The manager tried to rip me off. In addition, the manager listed the bracket price at $52.99. Bought the correct bracket from S***** R***** (((competitor REDACTED))) for $9.95.
