I placed an order on September 21st with MotherNature.com after a hiatus of several years. Previously, I had been happy with their products and services.

Although they quickly charged my credit card for the entire amount of my order, it was not until one month later that I received 2 items from my order. One month is a long time in the world of internet shopping, but I had hope that the rest of my order would be filled. It is also highly unorthodox in the world of internet shopping to charge for items not shipped. I have paid for these unreceived items.

A week or two later after receiving the first 2 items and having not received any communication from the company, I sent an email inquiring about the remaining several items in my order. I received no response whatsoever.

Today, I sent another email, stating I would file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission if I did not receive a response within 2 business days. Their site has an option to cancel the remaining part of the order, but my concern is that I will not be credited for those items, so I will wait for a response first.

I am a very savvy internet shopper, having placed my first online shopping order in 1996 with Amazon. I am careful and use only reputable companies. I guess I should have checked here first. My experience with MotherNature.com from several years ago was positive. All I can say is that their company must be going under, and I fear I will never see this order, nor receive a refund for the items. Over 2 months (10 weeks, I believe) to wait is ridiculous for standard items like soap, deodorant, and body care items.

I would not recommend ordering anything from this website unless you have money to burn.

Just filed complaint w/FTC; website now for sale

I did a whois of the domain www.mothernature.com while filing my FTC complaint and discovered that the domain is now for sale.  It is clear that they have no intention of fulfilling any of the orders behind these almost daily complaints from consumers - not when you were an internet retail pioneer.  My first order with them was in 2002, and an internet presence like that does not just sell their domain.  I can stand to lose the $50, but I know others cannot in this economy.  Please, do not place any more orders with them.  You will never see a thing.
