I received a bill from NTTA with a picture of my Illinois license plate number on it. When I called, I was told that this is happening a lot because Illinois changed their license plate rules and now semi-trucks can have the same plate number as a car. The only difference is the space between the 3rd and 4th character. I was asked to send in a picture of my car front including the license plate. I did that but then received another bill, from a totally different date, this time with late fees on it. I never even received a first bill this time. I don't know if it's a scam or if there's an Illinois truck driver blowing off toll-booths with the same license plate as me but I'm sick of having to deal with this and am looking for a solution. I am glad to find out that I'm not the only one that this has happened to, though. Maybe Illinois will change their policies back. Who knows?
