I was called at home by a guy named Aaron Gallagher saying that he was with a "501c3 charity" called Our Kids that purports to help children. I told him I was on the DNC list, and he said that he was with a charity that helps children and the DNC list does not apply. After a conversation where he repeatedly assured me he was legit, I started to look his organization up on the internet while he was on the phone with me.

Some things I found:

* Even though Aaron said he was only an employee of Our Kids, the Our Kids website (http://OURK.ORG) is registered to Aaron Gallagher personally (google "whois ourk.org"). He even used what appears to be his personal apartment address.

* He repeatedly talks about his "Board of Directors" in an attempt to show that he's merely a cog in some big time charity. Yet google searches for any information on Our Kids yields only a Facebook page (set up and run by, you guessed it, Aaron Gallagher). The Our Kids website does not list any directors either, naturally.

* The stuff Aaron posts to the Our Kids Facebook page and his personal Facebook page talk a lot about how much he hates Obama and how Obama is running the country. Not scammy in and of itself, but definitely not something you usually find on a charity's page purporting to be raising money only to "help children".

* Their website screams scam; right up to and including the "Verified by Paypal" badge that displays a yahoo.com email address when you click through to the link.

* Aaron claimed on the phone that they've been around for many years, but their website was registered on 05-Aug-2010. I guess two years is "many years" but come on.

* The IRS website search for 501c3's (http://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/) did not return any exact matches results for "Our Kids" or "Our Kids Inc". There's a "Support Our Kids" but neither Aaron, nor his site claim to be that organization. They even copyright their site "Our Kids Inc".

* When I challenged Aaron on what I was finding, he lost his temper and started threatening me saying he has attorneys, blah blah blah. This is obviously a scam that this moron came up with so that he can try to get around the DNC list. You get a call from this guy, just hang up the phone.

Our Kids is LEGIT! We actually checked infomation

AUTHOR: Boardmember - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, April 28, 2012

I am someone who was very bothered that I saw this, since I am a donor to Our Kids.  So, I did some major investigating and checked with the Secretary or State about Our Kids.  They are REAL and LEGIT.  BUT what REALLY disturbed me is that this site 'Rip Off Report' are the actual ripoff artists.  Anyone who has read this about Our Kids (a very good non-profit) should check into this site, the 'rip off report' site.  I did and found some very disturbing information.  Please go to YouTube type in rip off report, watch and LEARN the TRUTH about all of this.  Our Kids is a small non-profit and without any doubt 100% legit.  Do your own investigating and find the truth before you go believing what some 'website' says.  Thank you Our Kids for all you have done and hope to see more good things in the future!

Our Kids is NOT a SCAM!

AUTHOR: AaronGallagher - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, April 27, 2012

Anyone at ANYTIME can call the attorney general or secretary of state to prove Our Kids is not a scam.  We are a brand new non-profit, ONLY trying to survive.   I have NO clue where this came from but it is TOTALLY untrue.  Our Kids will be happy to prove this is untrue to anyone at anytime!

Aaron Gallagher calls Ripoff Report making threats that we better remove this report or else!

AUTHOR: Ed - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, April 27, 2012

Someone claiming to be Aaron Gallagher called Ripoff Report numerous times making threats that they were going to post about Ripoff Report on Craigs list and all over the Internet about Ed Magedson being a scam artist.  Aaron, if that was really you that called, you are too late,  thousands of companies that have been exposed on Ripoff Report have already beat you to it creating all kinds of nonsense about ED and Ripoff Report.

Whoever called sure seemed like they were carrying on the same way the above Report claims.

The person who called demanding that Ripoff Report remove this complaint kept calling from 317-518-5321. They were put on notice that they should not call again.

I tried to explain to the person that I never heard of thier non-profit and dont know anything about them, but, my feeling about non-profit organizations in general was, that I did not like the laws that protect non-profits. This is because non profit companies get away with only using 10% of the money to be used for the actual cause. There are way too many loop-holes that protect all non-profits, including religious organizations. Most non-profits take advantage of the system to pay themselves outrageous salaries. When I was explaining this to the person (whoever they were) they immediately started threatening me, to expose ED Magedson as a scam artist.
