While on a Royal Caribbean Cruise we purchased some artwork from Park West Galleries. They wanted us to put it on their credit card instead of just paying for it. That should have been my first tip off.
After the allotted time some of our pieces began to trickle in but the major pieces did not. I was told repeatedly that they were in framing & would be out soon. After months of this I finally got a call from Chris Austin at Park West that the major piece was missing. They had lost it & wanted us to take a replacement. We agreed to look at other pieces but told them that our entire purchase was predicated on that one piece.
After looking at what they offered to replace it with we decided not to take any.
Amazingly our piece was found & would be shipped soon. When we opened it it was damaged. Park West Gallery offered to replace it. So we went from it was in framing for weeks to lost to we found it to being sent a damaged one. We began to question the whole situation and the realtionships of all the parties involved
Keep in mind I have been billed on their credit card for months. In my nearly six months of dealing with them I have found that the credit card company (HSBC Bank Nevada), Royal Caribbean & Park West are all in cahoots in this apparent scam.
I have been given numbers to call that noone answers, had calls not returned for weeks & been lied to. They would call my home during work hours & my opffice after work hours. A skeptical person might think they were trying to avoid talking to me.
Then this morning I was told by Park West Gallery that they spoke to Royal Caribbean because they are who really makes the money are they are refusing to take the pieces back.
So at my own expense I am sending the damaged artwork & the pieces that we accepted expecting them to keep their word back to Park West Gallery. Now I will have to deal with the credit problems & harassment that all of their misleading actions will bring.
We will certainly never take another Royal Caribbean Cruise & will make it a point to tell others of our experience. We hope that this will help others avoid the frustration & harassment we have incurred.
I read about others' problems & did not believe them. Foolish me.
