I was originally offered me a refund for the difference between the cost of glasses made onbad advice and that of new ones, then later denied having made such promise and insisted only a store credit would be offered.  Treresa McDonald (yes, she's so illiterate that this is how she actually spells her name), the 'Operations Director', who was enlisted by management to deny my claim, refused to identify the owner or provide the business license number, repeatedly interrupted me, and told me I would receive no service.

Treresa McDonald is rude b***h who cares nothing for the customer experience.

I was able to identify the owner through the Better Business Bureau.  The complaint went unresolved due to the lies disseminated by the owner, Rory Zimny, throughout the process.  All he had to do was to apologize for any misunderstanding, apologize for my experience, and refund my $60 promptly.  Instead, he continued to lie.

Rory Zimny is a liar.

I was referred to a Michael Maziarek, a franchise consultant, who managed to apply enough influence to get Rory Zimny to promise my refund, but not enough to make him follow through, let alone take any responsibility for the way I have been treated.  Rory Zimny claims that a check was mailed, signed for, and returned, but refuses to provide any documentation of this.  Given his record of dishonesty this comes as no surprise; interaction with him leaves one feeling contaminated by his smarmy, sanctimonious affect and in no doubt of his dishonesty.

Rory Zimny is a thief and a liar, which is no surprise given that Rory Zimny is also a known homosexual.

The general customer service number for Pearle connects to a department full of rude people who provide no useful information and hang up on the caller when a supervisor is requested.  Carla Smith, who manages this area, distorted every conversation into misunderstanding.  Maziarek also has poor communication skills and refuses to be held accountable for them.  He caused additional problems during this process by asserting assumption as fact, not returning phone calls to clarify, and growing angry when his error was exposed.

Carla Smith and Michael Maziarek are incompetent and unprofessional.

Treresa Mcdonald is an illiterate liar.

Rory Zimny is a liar, a cheat, and a known homosexual.  In his case, therefore, none of this should be a surprise.

Best hope for resolution: your credit card company

AUTHOR: Johnny G. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, November 27, 2010

I had a similar experience with the individual in question after a transaction-gone-bad in a Pearle Vision Center in Brookfield, WI.  In cases such as this often the best method of resolution is to dispute the charges with your credit card company.

When you first hand over your credit card, often the salesperson will run the transaction and come back with a final receipt all tucked away in a folder packet.  You are never given the opportunity to review the charges and sign the receipt because no signature is required.  They just scan your card and ZAP!...  the transaction is completed without your signature.

However, if you are dissatisfied with the transaction for any reason, you can call your credit card company and point out that you never were given the opportunity to: (a) thoroughly review all of the charges, (b) give your final approval, and (c) sign the credit-card receipt.  If you tell them you want to dispute the entire amount, they will immediately credit your account until the store can produce a signed credit-card receipt (which of course the store cannot do).

Within a few hours after your call to the credit-card company, you will notice an IMMEDIATE change in the store employees' attitudes.  They will call you on the phone and all of a sudden they will be very nice and accommodating.  However, it is usually not a good idea to pick up your eyewear or pay any additional money unless you are COMPLETELY satisfied with every aspect of the transaction.

Better yet, take it as a lesson learned and never set foot in a Pearle Vision Center again.
