On March 30,2011 I called Peoplepc & told them that I wanted to cancel my account because I got satilite internet. The person that I spoke with, spoke very little english & was very hard to understand. He tried to have me take a month free of service & refund me $15.00.
I advised him I did not need this because the internet that they have is dial up & I wouldn't be using it. I wanted the service canceled! On July 30, 2011 I checked my bank account to see how my balance was & I notice that there was a payment pending for peoplepc!!!
I called them spoke with a female & asked her why was there money taken out of my account for the last 3 months when I had it canceled in March. She stated that I had agreed to the 1 month of free service & then continue the dial up sevice.
I advised her that I did not agree to this & why would I agree to this when I wasn't going to be using that service any more, & she couldn't answer me. I asked for all of the money to be credited back to my account & she stated that would only credit back 1 month & they have been taking it out of my account for the last 3 months!!
I asked to speak to a supervisor, & this time I spoke with Pamela Michelle. I asked for her last name & she stated that she was not premitted to giveme her last name it was company policy. I asked her if it was company policy for them to take money out of my account without premission, & she stated that i agreed to the 1 month free service & then to continue the service after that. Still no answer for taking money out of my account without my permission.
I asked her the same question, why would I pay for a service that I was not going to use! I asked Pamela, would you pay for something that you were not going to use & I got no answer. I advised her that either i get all of my money back or I was getting an attorney & file a law suite againist all of whom were involed.
It is against the law to take money from any account with out permission from the account holder. They need to be stopped. I did not give them permission to take any thing from account when I closed it on March 30th 2011. I asked her for the persons name that I spoke to in March & she couldn't give his name because it wasn't recorded.
They have it in the notes that I did call to cancel in March.I asked her the location of the corporate office the phone number & she hung up on me. A few minutes later she called back & stated that the call got dropped!!! She says that the Corporate Office does not take phone calls you can only write to them via US Postal Service or email address.
Something needs to be done about this. They can't just take money from an account with out premission from the account holder. I want to file a law suite againist the company.
