PetSmart Breeched all Workplace Harassment regulations Medicine Hat, Alberta

I wasn't hired by the SOB that was the reason I was forced to resign!! The man that hired me was also treated very badly and given the option to leave or....   I was hired as a store manager in a store that failed to identify a good person for the job not only from within but abroad for over 1 year!! I was handed Humpty Dumpty and was more than just a little successful in putting it back together again!!  We broke records, we started to bonus out, we won many company wide contests!  I hired people for their personality not a skill and placed or removed almost all those who wanted a free ride by the time personal tragedy hit my life!!  Up until then my DM aka COLLINS, gave my nothing but praise and smiles and encouragement!!! But did Dr. Jekyl ever appear after my youngest passed away.......I was promised by Collins that my store would see his personal attention in my absence and not to worry and to just take all the time I needed. The problem was I did trust and respect this male subject and did not see his true colors as some warned me of!
I returned to my store a few short weeks after my childs sudden passing against my doctors' wishes as the store was failing miserably with no leadership!  Calls to my home by customers and frustrated staff were endless! Collins had not given the store his attention as promised and he sent an alternate store manager there once who spent the majority of his time sitting in the office on the computer running his own store ( a real waste of my budget)!! Collins arrives at my store on two separate occassions and each time unloads verbally with no concern for others around. The second time he yelled, had his pants undone, popping huge veins on his face and red as a beet, swearing at me, calling me a liar, a thief, a failure and a fraud with absolutley no concern for my loss and refused to apologize on his own accord.  Staff and shoppers were subject to his childish and completly unprofessional display! Many customers left the store and did not return!!! At the point where I had taken all I could I was struck with severe and scarey chest and left arm pains, cold sweats, and nausea and all because I held back so as not to stoop to his level and actually sat holding my chair as the only means that stopped me from do what I so wanted to do to this person.  I was off work for a long time awaiting tests and results, Collins kept contacting me demanding answers for what the doctors were saying and when I was coming back. In my previous 25 years as a federal police officer I never witnessed such treatment and attitude, and I worked with some real winners!!!!!! The company refused to accept my properly and timely submitted benefits application documents on nearly 6 different occasions before our child passed and absolutley refused to accept resonsibility for their shortcomings afterwards and we were denied death benefits!!!!  I was also cut off disability as the benefits company Manulife decided that I had a pre-existing condition (depression) that contributed to my newly acquired condition brought on by the anxiety created from the treatment I was subjected to!!!!

This is not a new field of practice for this company as they do nothing to fix such issues and just fire and hire new people like this Collins boy or promote them while the store level staff get abused!!!  This was not at all remotley related to work place conflict, this was purely an all out verbal assault, complete with statements of blasphemous libel and total slander.  Had I been still with the RCM Police and this condition with my heart etc turned up..............I would be taken care of accordingly first and foremost!!!!  The dealings between Manulife and PetSmart were directly responsible for my long term benefits to have been denied.  Hell I was cleared to return to some form of employ shortly afterwards but was told that it was not in the best interests of my health to return to PetSmart!!!  I am sure there are large numbers of present and past employees that have been subjected to such cruelty and abuse that enough evidence exists for a class action against both PetSmart and Manulife!!!!!!

I would settle for 2 minutes in the ring with this Collins and any one of those from their Little Boys Club!!!

What goes around does have a way of coming back around!!!
