I get this recorded voicemail texted and e-mailed to me each time this automated phone calls me, so I have a log of all of the annoyances I've received. I call this number back, and I hear the same voice stating "Welcome to Pinnacle Financial Group" two times in a row before it hangs up on me.
I've called some other times and have had to be inconvenienced with disappointing rude supervisors who yell and panic about my phone number not being in their computer, so I "should not be receiving anymore calls". Yet, I still receive these vague messages that do not ask for anyone in particular, and do not inform me about what the call is regarding.
I keep sending complaints to the fcc, but there has got to be a way to get these guys to stop calling. What gives!?!?

I have to agree, its true!

When I received my call from Pinnacle Financial today, it came up on the caller ID as 1-877-796-2497. When I called the number, I got the same "This is Pinnacle Financial" message 2x and then it asked me to hold. After a minute, it hung up on me. I tried this 3 times (as stated in my original post)
I do understand the concept of a phone bank. Sometimes, the number that a call is coming from (particularly with a business) is not going to be the same number that you can return a call on. I am fine with that. What I am not fine with is when I ask the guy who finally gets me for a return number and he gives me 1-877-796-2497 and acts like he's shocked that nobody picks up this line. Clearly, they don't want to get return calls and they only want to speak to you when THEY call you. That's never been a good business practice in my book because it screams "scam" even if they aren't trying to scam.
Luckily, I did get a good number for them. 1-800-513-6852 and that number rings very LATE as they have to call people in California til probably 8 pm - even on the weekends.

Thanks, Fred for your suggestion. I actually did approach these folks nicely about a possible mistake and asking that they just not call my number again. There definitely wasn't any call forwarding involved, so that isn't the issue. I wouldn't call someone up just to yell at him/her. I get irked but isn't it mature to take the time to inquire what the situation is about before jumping to conclusions and reacting? I've been calm everytime, yet I get a frustrated and rude response--even from the supervisors. At one point, I addressed a supervisor's frustration and asked if she could understand that this issue is really an inconvenience, and she could not. I was told everytime that my number must have been removed and that I will not be called again, only to be called again with the same generic voice message. To receive that a multitude of times, with no request for a specific person or account, and to call the mentioned number just to hear an answering machine that hangs up on me...it's fishy. To that, I still ask, "What gives?" *shrug.

You obviously have call forwarding.. They work off a database of files that are indexed by and have a phone number assoicated with specific a account (not a list) Make sure you know ALL the numbers that forward to your phone(s). They do not want to waste their time calling a number that will never glean any profit. And don't be a jerk about removal.... just say " i think you have been calling a number of mine by mistake im mr. or ms. (fill in your last name)--its collections they don't telemarket--here is my number(s) can you make sure you dont call them again?"
