Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC Relentless calling and billing, but no real information Norfolk, Virginia

To whom it may concern:

For months I have been receiving phone calls and notices through the mail regarding an alleged debt. 
The allegation comes from a company known as Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC.

Initially I tried to talk with their callers.  However, they were not interested in dialogue, or responding to my questions. 
They were demanding, challenging, and insulting.  How so? 
Without regard to my attempted input, they insisted I owe them money.  Part of their soliloquy involved,Pay
or we will seek legal action.  The insult is in not listening to what I have to say, and assuming I owe a debt
they are not willing or able to explain.

I have scoured my memory, and researched my credit.  I have no recollection of a debt unpaid.  My credit is excellent and shows no outstanding debt.  As an average, middle class American, I have had struggles. 
Nonetheless, I have always paid my debts.  If I owe a debt, I would appreciate the
opportunity to make it right.  I will
not, however, simply send money through the mail because an unknown entity has said I must.

I need to know what I am supposed to have purchased; what finance charges if any are involved; and what late fees if any have been accrued.  Or can one simply obtain another persons personal information, create a company name with a fancy
letterhead, and begin contacting people claiming they owe money?

If the latter is the case, then perhaps I should start my
own business.

This makes the third letter I have written to this Recovery business.  I have received no real information.  I continue to receive
calls late in the evening and at odd times throughout the weekend, as well as, statements in the mail claiming I owe in excess of 1,800 dollars.  I request that the Better Business Bureau in Norfolk,
VA look into this company.  I request this company stop calling and mailing me.
