Pottery Barn Of course items with prices ending in .99 are not refundable - everyone knows that! internet

I recently bought some linens online from Pottery Barn.  When they arrived I was not happy with the color or the quality.  When I called to return them I was told they were not returnable because they were '99' items.  I e-mailed customer service and was told again they were '99' items.  When I said I didn't see any '99' in the item number they explained that all sales items with prices ending in '99' are not returnable - of course, how silly of me, everyone knows if you buy a sale item with a price ending in '.99' it is not returnable!  They sent me the link to their refund policy page and  there it is in paragraph 2 sentence 2.

Since I don't think most people would realize that they need to be aware of how the price of an item ends when ordering online, I would like Pottery Barn to indicate to the customer before they submit the order that the item is not returnable - this is not a difficult programming task (eg, if index(price, '.99') then put "This item is not returnable").  The current practice is deceptive and not an indicator of a company concerned with customer service.

In conclusion, beware when ordering sale items online from Pottery Barn and be aware that the dreaded .99 ending on a price indicates the item is yours forever!
