To whom it may concern,
This letter is written as a result of POOR customer service, which I need to address.
I placed a car reservation Sunday Nov. 17th. There was an error in this reservation.
It should have been a one way reservation picking up the car in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. on Jan 1st. 2014 at 6 p.m. & dropping the car off at Fort Myers, Fl. on Jan 11th at 8:30 a.m.
The reservation shows pick-up and delivery to the same airport at Fort Lauderdale.
Unfortunately this error has spun into a web there seems to be no recovering from.
I called back within the first 24 hours to have it corrected and I was informed that… when you use the “BID” feature to get your vehicle NO CHANGES can be made, thus leaving me stranded or out of the money we paid for to get it. You can surely see this is quite problematic, if it was your trip or your money.
I was finally told that I had to go back online and re-bid a second time for another vehicle, then to submit a letter with a case # of xxx, and I would be completely reimbursed for my first confirmation of #xxx.
When I went back on to Priceline to get the second confirmation, the price went WAY UP!!!
This is a terrible way to do business and leaves me feeling extremely trapped.
In all, I spent a minimum of three hours to untangle this web, and am feeling very overwhelmed.
Each phone call I made connected me to a very heavily accented person.
The first thing each of them said was” Not to worry Mrs. ___, we will get this taken care of for you”.
I was cut off, transferred, put on perma-hold, disconnected and completely let down.
To top this all off, there was also a 24 hour waiting period, in which I was unable to re-book at all.
When I was finally able to re-book, as instructed it was 11/21/13.
The second booking was way more money than we had budgeted for.
The second booking # is: xxx.
We are so unhappy and have had such a terrible experience, we will never use Priceline again.
Sincerely,

Not a RipOff..

It is very unlikey that you booked a one-way rental the first time. Most likely due to the closeness of their names you just glanced at it and "assumed" it was different airports. The reason it is fairly obvious that this is probably what happened...the cost.
A one-way rental 99 times out of 100 will be higher than a rental you return the car to the same location. The reason is the "drop fee" any car rental agency will charge you to be able to do a one-way rental. Depending on how far apart the two locations are this could be anywhere from about $25 to several hundred dollars. If you are in some inter-city rental where they may only be a couple miles apart you may not get hit with any drop fee.
When you use the Name Your Own Price "BID" function you are specifically required to enter in your initals that says you have READ an AGREE to the terms. These terms include a provision that you are not allowed to make any changes. So be glad that they seem to be willing to at least do an adjustment for the first reservation.
